Push 1 workout this morning.

After a full day of working outside yesterday, in the sun I might add,

I was feeling a little ruff around the edges for this one.

Blew off the core work if that tells you anything.

Either way I did what I could,

but I will be taking at least two days off after this one

to hopefully recover some.

Enjoying my second off day today, (feeling much better)

but still chomping at the bit to get back into the home gym.

Decided to use this as an opportunity to switch my training schedule up a bit.

When you've been training for as long as I have,

'inventing' new ways to keep it funky fresh helps keep me motivated.

Took a few minutes to build, but when the smoke cleared,

this 5 day split was the result.

OldGuy5DaySplit.png.e71729c6a8c666755da61cf0711b0865.png

So I'll be back at it early tomorrow morning (before breakfast)

and will be starting this one out with Day 2.

Planning on backing everything off (weight, reps & sets) to sort of start from scratch

but will build it up as each week progresses.

As always - I take an off day between each training day.

Oh man, I was thinking about how cooked I feel lately and the thought of taking time off and switching things up. You beat me to it @A-Jay.

Enjoy the time and get after it when you’re ready. Good luck on the new gig.

Tired today, but the show still goes on.

Have a great weekend buddy.

Recently had cornea transplant and had to stop lifting. Really missed it and did continue walking. Am now back in the gym and regaining my strength. Changed up the routines and like the results. Work out about 5 times a week

I am an old guy as 76. Convinced that staying in shape has helped me recover from several surgeries over the years.

Keep motivating us A-Jay

Thank @steve carpenter I appreciate your support.

And I'm very glad to hear you're back in the groove.

Keep it rolling my friend.

You are a real life hero.

I pulled a pallet jack loaded down with 200-400 lbs of crap for 13 hours last couple nights, my dogs wuz a barkin. I keep that up and I’ll look like Schwarzenegger. So far I’m just losing weight, sleep, and gaining some back spasms 😂

Nice job.

But I can't really relate to any of that

because I rarely exert myself at all.

I thought the other employees were bluffing when they said it sucked haha. I was wrong. Won’t be signing up for those back to back shifts anymore. Maybe if I get some inserts for my boots

Hit the home gym early this morning for the Day 4 workout.

Went as well as I can expect.

Body seems to rebel a little more before, during & after every one of these.

This is workout video number 601.

Day 5 workout this morning.

Felt pretty good.

We've finally got open water up here

so starting next week I'll be fishing.

That also means that although I'll still be hitting the home gym between fishing trips,

the training videos might not be coming as regular as they have been the past 4 months or so. #borninfiftynine

Hammered on the Day 1 workout this morning.

The freaking time change always jacks me up.

Got couple of inches of snow over night as well.

Glad I got to train.

How's the new gig A-Jay? Needed a few days off, got back to it on Sunday. Went all old school with a Peary Rader workout.

Good luck!

Peary Rader IS OLD SCHOOL.

Still totally applicable though.

Stay on it !

As for my training, it' seems decent.

Only been through it one time.

Working on getting the right mix of volume, Reps, sets & intensity.

Need to leave a little more in the tank for recovery than I have been.

End up 'surviving' rather that 'thriving'.

I'm back at it in the morning.

Workout Day 2 this morning.

As I approach 65 years old and the official title of Senior Citizen,

I don't always bust my azz to stay in shape . . .

Oh wait, yes I do.

After my scheduled off day plus a day on the water,

I was back in the home gym for workout Day 3.

Felt pretty good but didn't want to over do it.

Weather's total crap for at least a week and maybe even 10 days.

So I'll be in the gym as scheduled until that mess improves.

Been blessed with a good bit of muscle soreness again today.

Par for the course and IMO a little is a good thing,

but I'll never get used to it.

@Hammer 4 THANK YOU for your support, I really appreciate it.

Hope you & Dee are managing OK.

Workout Day 5 this morning.

Graduated to the long bar for my rows.

Affords an option for more resistance.

Plan was to bump up the weight and perform 3 working sets of 8.

Went well, mostly.

Workout day 4 this morning.

With the start of my bass fishing season oh so close,

yet seems so far away, I have plenty of pent up energy to get these done.

Been back lifting now for two months, 3 - 4 times a week after almost 10 years off the iron. I feel great and realized how much I missed and needed it. Higher reps and lighter weights than I'm accustomed to are really working for me.

I've been on TRT for for 6 months and my muscular growth rate is crazy. I've gained 7 pounds, shirts are fitting differently, and had to punch a new hole in my belt. Supplementing my diet with Creatine, Whey Protein, and TMG.
