btw - if you're one of the hundred or so folks who visit this thread

and you're currently not on some kind of regular exercise program,

but you're thinking about it, know this.

It's NEVER too late to start; regardless of age.

First one's the toughest, and then you build from there.

Don't wait another day !

no sucking in to button them up. Proud day, lol.

You have to lay on the bed face up and dangle your feet, works like a charm, wife let me in on it recently, apparently every woman knows this.

Back in the home gym for Total Body 1 this morning.

Took two days off.

Between these two training sessions

I ate 15 meals, hydrated with 3 gals of water

and got 24 hours of sleep.

That's where the commitment truly lives.

Completed 3 working sets of 6 basic movements.

Showing 2 sets of each here.

If you:

Struggle to set goals

Are generally Disorganized

Perpetually Unfocused

Give up easily

Practice Poor self-care

and are Easily distracted,

This might not be for you.

I drink whey protein like a lot of folks, but I was surprised to learn you need 1g per kilo of body weight, minimum.  I've started drinking an extra 30g serving of whey every day.

What’s everyone’s favorite lower cal snack? Popcorn anything else?

I don't 'snack'.

Instead, it's Five small balanced meals a day.

If it's not making me better, I don't eat it.

And therein lies the "secret" to success. Self control.

I like the inflatable! I think we have one of those at the house deflated somewhere, might have to hunt that down as I’ve got no bench

I would not reccomend bench pressing off an inflated ball with free weights.

Way too much can go wrong.

You could put your feet up on it and go crazy with the push ups though.  Just watch your balance.

Keeping it basic, safe and semi-challenging is always the goal.

Total Body 3 this morning.

Spent most of my off day yesterday clearing snow.

Had no gas to train afterwards so I took the day off.

Showing some warm up and two working sets in this one.

40th workout of 2023 was Total Body 1 this morning.

Switched some things around.

Plan on running this one for a couple of months anyway.

A little change is good.

Total Body 2 for the last workout of the month.

Performed 3 working sets.

Maintaining my joint health over all these years has been tricky.

I'm being extra careful with it these days.

Arthritis is bad news and bring about life altering debilitation.

The right kind of exercise can really help however.

It can improve health and fitness without hurting joints.

Combined with a treatment program, exercise can add to quality of life.

And it can:

Strengthen muscles around joints.

Help maintain bone strength.

Increase energy.

Make it easier to sleep well.

Help control weight.

Improve balance.

Improve mood.

Bones need strong muscles for support.

Not exercising weakens those supporting muscles.

Weak muscles put more stress on joints.

Adding excess body weight to that is not the best deal either.

Most of them just have the regular aches and pains but my aunt had RA from her teens til she died in her early 70s, she beat all the odds but never got much over 100 lbs and battled it her whole life without bones in her hands and feet. She was a school teacher and still somehow had the best handwriting I’ve ever seen.

Started my Sunday morning off with Total Body 3.

Hammered out 3 working sets.

I'll be taking my scheduled two off days.

Feeling like I earned them.

Just realized that this thread has over 40K views in five years ~

Easily the most clicked on deal I've posted here since joining BR in 2008.

Interesting that it's not fishing related.

Either way, Thanks for the support.

Total body 2 this morning.

Had a tough time getting up for this one.

Dialed it back a bit to compensate.
