Been fishing hard most every off day for a while.

Even slipped in some afternoon fishing after morning workouts.

Love being on the water but after a while it starts to add up.

I can 'feel' it in the gym for sure.

Still getting it done though.

I hit the gym tonight as well. Tuesday's trip to the gym was brutal. Not so bad today.

Between the bum leg (which is much better) and some other stuff,

I'm working my way out of the funk that I was in slowly but surely.

It's a good feeling.

Working out every other day allows me just enough time to recover between workouts.

As well as help keeping me invested in the training.

I'm finding that it takes me a little over every other day to recover after a hard ride these days. I also find that it helps performance if I miss it a tad long than short, so I'm taking off 2 days more and more. Today is my birthday, born in 61, and 61...

I skated transition for three hours on Sunday.  I was able to push certain tricks that I have on lock much easier. Better height, longer grinds, and overall sense of confidence. While my legs were totally shot yesterday morning, by the afternoon I'd almost fully recovered. I'll take it. Going to the gym after work today.

As a younger man, I can't say I really knew what I would be like when I was in my 60's.

Well now I know.

Seems it's as hard as you want to make it.

Sometimes my workout is mostly about stress relief.

I added weight and did sets of 8.

Seems the biggest challenge for me at this point

is to be at least as capable as I was yesterday.

Working sets were longer today.

Been feeling it past few workouts, in a good way.

Busted out the weighted vest for Leaning Press.

Grinders got to grind ~

I'm doing whatever I can to keep this train on the tracks.

Seems to be working.

Completed two working sets of 7 exercises.

Showing one of them here.

I've got a pretty severe cold that started yesterday. Not too much coughing, mostly just weak, snotty, and sore throat. I'm due to work out tonight. What's your move here? Grind through it?

Also, I just started noticing I have lats, lol. So that's working.

Sorry to hear that you're under the weather J.

Tried it both ways.

Training sick just bites it and probably prolongs recovery.

Take at least a day off for the win.

Okay, thanks. I appreciate your advice a lot. This is all new to me. Whatever it takes to keep me on my skateboard. I'll take all the other benefits too.

This is how I approach it quite often.  There are certain things in life that I need to do to help relieve stress and moving/lifting weights is one of them.

Racquetball is another.  Slamming the ball as hard as I can against the front wall is a route of stress release for me.

Took an extra day off since my last workout.

Didn't really 'need it'.

Just want to go fishing instead.

Back at it this morning.

Showing one working set of the 7 exercises performed.

Made my scheduled assault on the home gym this morning.

Been wearing the (red) 5 lb ankle weights during many sessions the past few months.

Today I was back in the (black) 10 lb deals.

Felt like it was time.

Sort of amazing what a 5 lb difference can make over the course of the workout.

Quite noticeable.
