Nice work A-Jay

If you want a nice variation of a lunge, try these:

I have bad knees from heavy sqatting in my younger years so I do a lot of leg variations to hit the quads well but stay knee friendly. These don't bother my knees at all and really hit the kwads well!

Thanks - I am quite familiar with the BSS. Great option.

I can do them but have to be careful I don't get that  front knee out over the toe.

Also I always want to use that back leg more than I should.

Documented the Physical Therapy this morning.

The basic theme was "Pull"; the underlying motive is solid hook sets.

Also I'd like to apologize in advance for the semi-Sappy sound track video overlay - we can all collectively thank the YouTube Copyright Police for that BS.   Going forward I'll have to come up with a different plan.

I don't know how old you are, but I applaud you for keeping it up. I was pretty jacked when I was about 22-26 years old. But I gave it up, now I only have man boobs and floppy arms to show for it.

Thank you Sir ~

If it all goes according to plan,  I'll be 59 next month.

Think about getting back at it.

You'll be all kinds of glad you did.

No doubt I want to be on the water as much as possible this time of year.

So ‘sacrificing’ an hour or so in the gym every other day can seem like a daunting task.  However there’s no denying the huge benefits reaped from the work –

Nah ~ my 'Jungle Gym' days are behind me . . .

I do occasionally enjoy watching them though.

Looks like A-Jay has it figured out. Myself, no gym for me, but as someone that’s been a stonemason full time for 21 years now, and self employed and doing it all on my own for the last 7 years, I’m pretty much “in the gym” five days a week. With baseball one night a week and hockey another night a week, I can’t eat enough to worry about extra calories ?. Nothing like carrying big stones and pails of mortar up several sections of scaffold all day to “burn the fat”.

I'm active, but not that active.

As for burning the fat - it really helps me if I just don't eat (or drink) it.

But it’s soooo tasty ?. Seriously though, I’m not a big “fat eater” either, and I applaud your efforts to stay in good shape. If I didn’t do what I do for a living, I’d be working harder as well to keep the body flowing as I age. I fully intend to be around for as long as I can, and I’d like to be able to do physical stuff for a long time too, I’ve seen lots of people as they get older, even at my age ( late 30s), just get less active and slowly “soften up”. Doesn’t seem like a very fun way to spend your retirement. Heck, I know guys I went to school with that already couldn’t see their toes looking over their bellies, and these are guys that not even 20 years ago were pretty decent athletes.

No doubt it's not easy - if it were everyone would do it.

Bottom line - Father time is Unbeaten.  But I have no plans on making it easy for him.

It's a life style and once you're in the groove - you just stay there.  Bones stay strong, muscles keep working, heart keeps pumping, brains stay active, balance & confidence make daily living a pleasure rather than chore.

Been 'in shape' my entire adult life - and for me, even though 40 years of diet & exercise may have laid the ground work - it's all about what I do NOW.  When it comes to my current health & fitness, the best way to be in shape tomorrow - is to do something about it Today.

Although it’s been a couple of months since I’ve posted up one of these – my diet & exercise regimen continues to flow right along.

Today’s chest, shoulder, & triceps workout felt pretty good (relative term) and as always I finish with some core work.  This is a clip of what it looked like.

After more than 59 successful trips around the sun, the best way for me to be in shape tomorrow - is to do something about it today.

Still Raining like all get out.

Don't exactly know what that means but my wife's from Michigan and she says that a lot.

Anyway - The old guy's still at it.

It was a Pull Day ~

Not easy by any stretch but still most beneficial.

19 Dec 2018 ~ Staying the Course.

This morning’s focus was Back, Bicep & Core Work.

Volume's been kicked up as notch and I’ve increased my calorie intake accordingly.

Still keeping it clean.

Well, mostly.

As I told my son and his friends: look at her mother.

She will look like her mother as she ages.

Same for the girls: look at his father.

You can do all you can to be a lean, mean fighting machine, but Mother Nature will win out as you age. It gets to be a longer and harder battle as you go forward. It's in your genes and DNA.

But we are proud of you and we will be eating our donuts and cheering you along all the way!

 I appreciate your 'support' @Sam.

Interesting outlook too.

I choose to prescribe to the adage of 'Move it or Lose It'.

Because it certainly would be a shame to lose the ability to do this, even one day earlier than absolutely necessary.

Sorry @A-Jay, I'm not trying to hijack this thread and won't post off topic here after this.

I'm sure mother nature will eventually win out, but I'm not gonna let her win that easy. I hope she's p!$$ed at me by the time she beats me.

Keep moving and be as healthy as you can be. You only have 1 body and 1 chance to do it in this life time. :)

Not a Hi-Jack and no apology needed my friend - Good to hear from you.

Clearly Father Time will forever be unbeaten and although my abilities & capacity has certainly declined some over the years, I am Miles ahead of what I'd be if, for instance, this keyboard was the height of my activity level for the day.

So true. Material things come and go but your body is with you a lifetime. We sometimes take better care of our worldly possessions like cars and boats then we do our own bodies.

This time of year is especially hard for me. Lot's of birthdays and glut holidays between October and January. I have to up the steps per day and push-ups to keep from gaining too much weight. 6 pounds are not as easy to shed as they once were.
