This weekend I did some push ups, ate minimal amounts of bread, only had 2 beers, drank lots of water and got plenty of sleep. I think I’ve isolated the enemy: cookies. I eat them even for sport, I lost count

Total Body #3 ~

Felt pretty spry this morning.

Substituted Seated Overhead Shoulder Press with a one arm standing deal,

mostly just for variety.

Always great to see you keep trucking along A-Jay, keep at it ?.

On a regiment myself now with working out, NY winter…. When I’m ahead on work and ain’t got any plans, hardly a warmer and more inviting place than the gym.

Total Body Workout #3 ~

Weighed in at 150 lbs at the start of this one.

Last rack pull was 3 times body weight for 10 reps.

Nothing broke.

Setting realistic short & long term goals has proven fairly beneficial;

especially when it comes to this training.

Of course that's the easy part.

The execution, not so much.

Still, this morning went well.

Total Body Workout #3 ~

Plenty of warm up sets and 2 solid working sets of 7 exercises.

460 lb Rack Pull was the best so far this year, but it's early yet.

Just wanted to say I'm super jelly of your private home gym. Such a nice little set up. Had a gym membership for 15+ years. Questionable whether I'll ever have another one. I LOVE working out, but hate the public gyms and gym culture. Keep up the good work man!

Thanks I appreciate it ~

Been so long since I've been in a commercial gym,

I actually don't remember what it's like.

Trained for many years exclusively in gyms at military installations.

Different deal.

Hope you can find a way to get back into it.

Yeah, always preferred the military gyms to the commercial ones for sure. Always felt honored when a buddy invited me. Less equipment, but the vibe and attitude (or lack thereof) was 100% better. These days it's just cardio and kettlebells for the most part. Space is my biggest limiting factor for home workouts. Your set up is awesome.

Are you still into the Brig-20?

I am but I'm taking a break from all that isolation work.

Ran it for a time and At first I loved it.

Then it seemed to 'get stale'.

I just wasn't feeling like I was 'doing enough'

and 8 -10 sets of the same exercise is pretty boring.

I may go back to it but for now, I'm back to doing all

'the wrong exercises '.

You know, the ones that work.

I'm also eating 'more'.

How's goes the battle for you ?

8-10 sets of how many reps? Sounds like volume training.

Me? Shook up a little with my numbers. Been more kettlebelling than anything else. Because the doc wants me to drop like 10-15 lbs, the kettlebell gives me the strength and the cardio. It is high volume training but it’s a proven method for me.

Been on it prior to to docs visit which is good. Had to make a few adjustments to make sure I include body parts with dumbbell work that don’t get the attention with kettlebells.

Between that and some tweaks to nutrition, I’m getting back into a nice schedule.

Honestly, it’s really a matter of execution at this point.

Cool ~

Sounds like you're in a nice groove and have plenty of momentum moving forward.

Looking forward to hearing more good things.

Yea the sets/reps were sort of paramount to volume training.

Started out running 40/30/20/15/10/10/10.

Some of the exercises were pretty interesting at those numbers.

Plenty warmed up, that's for sure.

Eventually dropped it to 30/20/15/12/10/10

but even then, on a Total body deal, I felt like I was just surviving.

Better now though.

Push Day Tomorrow.

See how that goes.
