Your recovery time for back in shape is pretty good for your age.  I know when I have an injury that prevents certain exercises, it takes at least a month and I'm in my 50s (I consider this "young" lol).  I'm nursing a broken hand right now. I can pull anything, just can't push with my right hand. That right tri and bi are gonna be put to the test in a month. In the meantime every day is leg day.

Nice work.  I watched your vid for a minute, but it felt a little weird watching you work out, lol.  Nice gym though ?

Thanks, and I hear ya.

I often go back and watch some of the older clips as motivation for the next workout.

Sometimes it helps, other times it's  sort of a depressing reminder that aging is relentless.

However, while it surely slows my roll, I choose not to let that stop me.

I train every other day so every workout is some kind of leg day.

A-Jay I’m really glad your hamstring is doing better

@VolFan regarding lower body strength, I care about it an awful lot too. I feel I get more functionally from lower body training than I do upper body. Legs are the “wheels” of the machine.

Thanks,

As this recovery has continued, I am leaning towards an mcl or lcl strain with no hamstring involvement at all.  So it's knee  stability that's been effected.  Either way still taking it very slow.

Been a minute since my last workout video.

Took a full 3 weeks to get to where I could tolerate anything more than the lightest of activity. Fortunate to be back in the home gym, for a couple of weeks now.

Working my way back super slowly to where less is more.

Still using the same 3 day split routine but tweaked it a bit hoping to promote the healing process. This morning I felt pretty good, so I fired up the GoPro.

Be nice if I can keep it rolling.

My knee seems to be responding well and I'm making incremental improves accordingly.

My appetite seems to be increasing which I'm taking as a good sign.

Gotta feed the machine.

Workout 2 this morning.

Starts with some single leg training that always gets my attention.

Competed 3 working sets of 5 movements and I'm showing all 3 set here in this one.

Been a while but it does offer a good sense of what I put into this every other day.

Might be a special kind of crazy, especially at 64 years old.

Workout 3 on this already hot Friday Morning.

Just about back to my fighting weight

and feeling quite a bit more capable than I did just 3 weeks ago.

Btw, I never under estimate the importance of grip strength.

My Sunday morning started of with Workout 1.

Competed 3 working sets of between 10-15 reps for 6 exercises.

Did 2 working sets of crunches on the 'ball of death' to wrap it up.

Showing the last set of each one here.

I always document every workout and do believe specific details of weights, sets & reps is important.

As I continue to work myself back, I've been able to make 'small' weight increases (just about every week) while maintaining the same number of working sets & reps.  Bottom line, this stuff adds up fast.

Great quote.  When I was younger in my hockey days, we'd often have to skate grinders in practice when our play was poor in games and our coach would say "the legs feed the wolf."  Those stick-less drills got pretty old but what he said was true.

I did a Murph this morning. I didn’t make it to 100 pull ups. I also didn’t video any of it. It’s 90+ and humid today - it looked like I was melting by the end of the second mile.

Had some festivities to attend later so in order to do that we went with some super sets this morning. Always gets my attention.
