Funny you posted this ^^^^, the past couple of days I've been seriously thinking about dropping down. The weight has been feeling really heavy lately. Could be time to take a weeks break, could be from weight loss or it could be a combination of weight loss, calorie deficit and feeling a bit over trained. Either way, I'm in the routine switch camp.

Good luck.

Been a couple of weeks since I posted one of these.

This fairly stimulating workout from this afternoon

shows two working sets of 5 basic movements.

Continue to get these workout in between days on the water.

Seems the better the fishing is the harder these get.

Just trying to keep everything operational.

I got back into it yesterday after being sidelined for a few days...it got done...it wasn't pretty, either.

Still building energy up.

Good to hear~

I am still very deep in the 'Hammered D** S***' zone,

so it's going to be a while for me.

I'll get there eventually.

And there it is ~

First morning back in the home gym in 18 long and mostly brutal days !

Clearly getting back requires Baby Steps Bob

But I can't remember a time when 10 push ups felt

THAT GOOD !!!!!!!

Here we go . . . . . .

Glad to see you back at it. Took me a good 4 workouts before I felt "right" again even though I'm still dropping like a log, fast asleep around 2 plus hours after I train.

You Too - and I'm not rushing it ~

Sad part is I lost quite a bit of what I had built up over the hard water season.

If a 60 year old can actually build anything ?

I'm sure it's temporary and you'll regain it fast enough.

Good luck, mi amigo

i still workout but i joined planet fitness to get myself more motivated to workout.

It got mundane working out at home and having a place to go and be around other people motivates me.

Been workin real hard on the lower body this past few months building up strength in in the lower back, hips, legs,,,,

It has worked out tremendously as when i shore and wader fish such as i am on the river climbing over chunk rocks and steep hills i dont fatigue.

I started hiking pretty strenuously a few months ago to get into shape. I'm 54, 190, 5'11" with shoes. I plan on doing overnight solo backpack trips where I can fish, and I have my first one planned (not the date).

I write this to say that 3 people inspired me to do this.

Jim Lowe - guy with a Youtube channel who hikes the Sierra wilderness and Yosemite areas and sees and fishes some of the most beautiful places I have ever seen. He goes multi-days and makes some good vids. He's an expert.

The Hiking Rev - Youtube. Guy hiked the Pacific Crest Trail (2600+ miles) at 67 years old and recorded it. Gorgeous, like breathtaking, emotional. I want to see some of that. The first guy above made me long to do it, this "Rev" guy showed me that I could do it. The next guy in the list showed me that I could do it and had to do it!

A-Jay - the first time I saw this thread I almost fell out of my chair. I almost did just now too! Dude you are the man.

You seem like the kind of person who goes for it, follows through and does things right. Your fishing too I mean, the photos, the vids. I notice this because I'm not like that very much.

By had to do it, I mean I'm tired of periodic back pain, I'm sick of feeling tired all the time, people my age are dying around me of heart attacks...and here's a guy older than I am (a little!) kicking butt! I can at least do some of that!?

I figured I'd take charge. I'm doing my best. I am pushing myself when I hike. I want to do better every time, and I do. I hike local trails with weight in my pack. I'm almost ready for my first solo overnighter. Hiking and fishing.

I appreciate what you are doing and the hard work it takes, especially now that I'm doing something. I have to make myself do this on some days. It is an effort, but it's thoroughly enjoyable.

Thank you for showing us what you're doing here. I don't know if you're trying to inspire people but you are.

First off, Thank you very much @schplurgfor the kind words & the support,

I certainly appreciate it.

Second, you & your story is what inspires me everyday and drives what I do in this thread.

So thank you again for sharing this.

And third, we may be more alike than you think.

I'm just a regular guy who enjoys life and and there's a few very important reasons why,

and they go well beyond simple survival.

I hope to keep doing that as long as I can and with the highest quality possible.

However, while hope is important, it's not really a strategy.

Taking care of my humanness is the best way I know how.

You're doing the same thing.

Given your current situation I now know why you haven’t posted a workout in a few days. Hope all is well with you and especially Lynn!

@12poundbass

Thanks Jeremy ~ We're both good.

Ran an at home Covid test (From the CDC) on Lynn yesterday.

She's negative - seems my self imposed "quarantine" worked.

I'm back to eating & training and I'll get a video up in a bit.

Need some time to get back in The Groove.

But it's not too far away, thankfully.

Stay Safe my friend.

Still thumping down the come back trail ~

After an off day yesterday,

where I actually got out and caught a few fish (walleye sandwiches),

I was back in the home gym this morning.

Hammered out (relative term) some decent leg training.

I'll be rolling a 3 - Day Double Split routine (below)

at least until August or so.

Day's off come after every 3 workouts.

Takes about 60 minutes with a thorough warm up in advance of every training session.

A Full Body Routine usually shown up next.

Looks like a winner A-Jay.

Wish I had more time to spend in my training sessions. Thankfully I'm still getting 5 days a week @ 45 min.

Glad you're feeling better. Not sure I'd wish Covid on my worst enemy.

Be good mi amigo.

Been back at it for a couple of weeks now ~

This is the first video since my Covid recovery.

Push 2 ~ Chest, Shoulders, Triceps & some core at the end.

Dumbbell flat bench, Dumbbell Overhead shoulder press, Triceps cable kickback and

I threw in a lightly weighted lateral raise.  Did three working sets ~ Showing one here.

Focus is on form as well as building up my capacity to grind again.

Pull 2 tomorrow
