Thank you for the motivation @A-Jay and everyone else !! Going to keep going and pushing myself daily. Nicely Done ~ You are totally heading in the right direction. Not easy putting yourself out there. There's a 'power' in it though, at least for me. Seems you've discovered it yourself, really good. Having the courage, will & desire to work for & find the best version of you, is in my book, as good as it gets. Thank you for posting & sharing your success. I am really looking forward to what's ahead. #fitforlife A-Jay 1 Quote

The Maestro Posted March 24, 2020 Posted March 24, 2020 This thread is great motivation A-Jay. My gym's been closed for a couple of weeks but I have a pretty good home gym. I've been dragging my butt getting back into a routine that will consist of more basic exercises due to limited equipment compared to a commercial gym. I'd love to have a setup like yours. That yellow machine you have looks phenomenal. Who makes it? 1 Quote

Building a home gym at 50 years old seemed like a decent way to all but eliminate any excuses. I had some space restraints so that played a role in my purchase. The unit in the link below is what I have - although it looks like it's changed a bit in the last 10 plus years, seems very close. I highly recommend it. https://www.powertec.com/workbench-levergymr A-Jay Quote

I have a power rack and an adjustable bench with free weights and Power Block adjustable dumbbells. Would love to trade up to a unit like yours. Seems like it might be too high for my ceilings though. Quote

I can kick my own azz quite successfully with just body weight stuff. Throw in a stop watch and minimal rest, and you're on your way to sweat city . . . Especially effective if you've not done it recently. Good Luck. A-Jay 1 Quote

I got sort of spoiled with all the variety. I was doing a 4 day body part split as I liked hitting specific muscle groups hard with lots of sets and different exercises. Will probably go back to a 4 day upper/lower split like I was doing before I joined a gym. 1 Quote

Super User gim Posted March 26, 2020 Super User Posted March 26, 2020 Lifetime Fitness closed its doors over a week ago here too. Didn’t realize until now how much I miss it. I use the equipment, saltwater pool, steam room, racquetball courts, and tennis courts with regularity...and now all I can do is walk the dog or go for a run. ? Quote
Super User J Francho Posted March 26, 2020 Super User Posted March 26, 2020 I took one of those chocolate chip cookie ice cream sandwiches, and dipped it in warm peanut butter as my dessert last night. I didn't really feel the extra weight of the peanut butter. Quote

Super User J Francho Posted March 26, 2020 Super User Posted March 26, 2020 That's a great video - good ideas. I know I joke around on this thread, but with a chin up bar, and a yoga pad, that video adds plenty of stuff to keep fit. Seems like it's getting more and more important with many of us WFH. Daily exercise was already bad, working in an office. Sitting at home has made it more important to get moving. Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted March 28, 2020 Author Super User Posted March 28, 2020 There's a fine line between Dedication and Addiction . . . Continuing with the Four-Day Split workout routine, I added an extra off day between #2 & #3. Just felt like I might be coming close to over training. My personal history with that is, if allowed to continue, sometimes culminates with an injury. Ain’t nobody got time for that ~ A-Jay 1 Quote
