Never pulled the trigger on the bibs because I didnt wanna drop the $400. Yea sure, Flyshack.com has em for $140 but only in cobalt blue. When you say you have the jacket do you have the challenger jacket? If so how is the material as far as waterproof/windproof and have you washed it without it changing? Quote

I have the older Contender and Prodry Goretex jackets. They are incredible as far as being waterproof and windproof. I've handled the Challenger series at the Field and Stream store and thought it was pretty nice. The jackets I have are more of a hard shell and the Challenger fabric is a little softer in feel. I honestly don't think the Challenger would hold up to constant, torrential rain, but I imagine it would be pretty good. I think what makes me skeptical is the fact that it's only 2-layer fabric. For what it's worth, I have a buddy in NY that has the set and swears by it. 1 Quote
dave Posted October 25, 2017 Posted October 25, 2017 After years of Frogg Toggs and the insides of both pants and jackets tearing out, I went with Frabill. I love the reticulated knees. Are they keeping me dry? I think so. I sweat when I move around when it's even 60 degrees outside. I put on a rainsuit and I am SOAKED in sweat when I take it off. Its better than being rained on and drenched I guess. Quote

Good question Sean...I typically wear XL (I can't get the shoulders to fit in L), but Simms shirts seem to need to be XXL to fit across my shoulders. The Simms coats and rain gear I have are all XL though...so I'm not 100% sure. 1 Quote
Super User NHBull Posted October 26, 2017 Super User Posted October 26, 2017 Frabill should be going on sale soon......just keep googling Quote
Super User slonezp Posted October 26, 2017 Super User Posted October 26, 2017 and Guidewear is normally 50% off around black Friday Quote
riverbasser Posted October 26, 2017 Author Posted October 26, 2017 I believe that's the plan. Wait for a sale. Since goretex is the only fabric that gets consistent good reviews. Im really not interested in spending $200 on just a pair of bibs though, sure wish I wore tall sizes so I could jump on the $99 dollar guidewear sale. Thanks all Quote
