TheRodFather Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Anyone use one yet, any first impressions? I'm thinking of pairing one up with one of my Curado I reels, maybe converting to all Curado rods down the road. I currently use all Curado reels, and rods made by the company that shant be named but rhymes with Halloween Fishing. They are simiilar price points, and so far I have been happy with them other than one that broke out of nowhere while twitching a jerkbait. But was replaced no questions asked. What say the group? cfout4050 Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 I bought one tried it seems really well balanced and sensitivity is on par with the price point. Just my two cents. Pm me this brand we don’t discuss. I’m new to this forum and it’s driving me nuts with what rymes with Halloween. Lol. Quote

Take the date that Halloween is on---switch those numbers around---add fishing after that number. 1 Quote

I'm curious if they are really $50 better than the exage, and is a dishes worth it for only $40 more Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted October 13, 2017 Super User Posted October 13, 2017 Spend the extra $20-30 and get yourself the Zodias or a St. Croix Avid. Both are a much higher quality blank. Quote

I have no experience with the rods but this was my initial thought. For a bit more looks like you can get a better quality rod. I'm interested to see what everyone has to say as I'm considering picking up a Shimano rod. I have mostly Dobyn's Champions. Quote
RichF Posted October 13, 2017 Posted October 13, 2017 Given their looks and price point, my guess is that they're replacing the Crucial series. I actually thought the Crucials were pretty awesome rods for their price. They had very strong, lightweight, and crisp blanks. I've owned Crucials, Zodias, and Avids...they're all fairly close in quality IMO. Quote
cfout4050 Posted October 14, 2017 Posted October 14, 2017 It really is a good rod. I used it a lot over past week like it a lot. I have Several high end rods I’m comparing it to. When I say high end I mean 200-400 dollar rods. Quote

Well, I would hope so...... I try to buy based on value, clearly there are better rods, but for me, there comes a point in time where the law of diminishing returns comes into play. Is a $170 dollar rod better than a $150 rod, probably, will it catch me more fish......doubtful. That's not to say I want to use junk, but like I said, law of diminishing returns. Thanks for the insight everyone, I think I'll give one a try. Quote
