Super User burrows Posted October 11, 2017 Super User Posted October 11, 2017 What are your guys thoughts on theses rods? Quote
CroakHunter Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 I haven't fished them. But handled the 6'9 spinnerbait rod briefly. It had whatever that super light Shimano is on it and I couldn't even tell it was in my hands. Very light rods. Flipped around a 3/8 oz spinnerbait and felt perfect. Not sure how it handled an actual fishing situation, but I plan to pick one up when my wallet recovers after Christmas. 1 Quote
Chance_Taker4 Posted October 11, 2017 Posted October 11, 2017 I have used a ton of Denali Rods over the years and I was a firm believer in their original Kovert line. The Kovert Lite is one of the lightest rods I have held. However as with all Denali Rods the guides come loose and fall off rather quickly and without notice and to me the Kovert Lite is not the most sensitive rod in that price range. 1 Quote
Super User burrows Posted October 11, 2017 Author Super User Posted October 11, 2017 From my understanding was that the guide inserts problem was fixed with the LT series? Quote

Its not the inserts that's an issue. I have owned almost every rod Denali has made (Jadewood, Rosewood, Noirwood, Kovert, Kovert Lite, Lithium) Every rod except for the Noirwoods had an epoxy issue with guides that break loose and fall off the rod. If it was one or two I would say user error but 7 out of the 10 I owned did it and my repair guy made a comment about it as well when repairing them. 1 Quote
Super User burrows Posted October 15, 2017 Author Super User Posted October 15, 2017 The rod is well ballance and extremely lite has a nice touch with the wood at the end of the blank not the tip . I don’t like the guides. I think the price point is to high. Not for me. But a nice rod. Quote
