Hey everyone. I am potentially going to be fishing a tournament at Penniman Lake on Cheatham Annex on the military base in Yorktown VA. I've never been there and don't have a chance to pre-fish. If anyone has any info about the type of Lake it is and the layout I could really use it! Thanks!

This might be too late, but I used to fish all those lakes many years ago.  Pennimen is small with very clear water.  Tons of aquatic vegetation.  Not sure these days, but it used to hold some very nice fish (6+ lbs.).  It's also got a lot of great crappie.  I caught bass with basically any standard lures of the time of year.  It was hard to beat a jig or jerk bait in the winter.  I'd expect you can get into some good ones on top still.  Good luck.

Sorry...I missed this...probably too late, also.  @VAHunteris correct...except the clear water part.  The weeds have died back and left a lot of particulate....water is pretty dirty right now.

I didn't know they held tournaments on there.  I know they still do them on Jones, but Penniman is pretty small for more than a few boats competing. (So is Jones, for that matter.)  I haven't fished a tourny there, but went down for one a few months ago that was called due to weather.  Without live wells, I've been curious how they do them...and if the fish come out of it in good shape.
