Peter E. Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 What would be a good trolling motor battery for under $100? And then where does one go about purchasing this battery? Thanks, Peter Quote
Team_Dougherty Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 For a little over $100 you can get an AC Delco Voyager M27MF from any GM dealer. I have had mine for over 7 years and it is still going strong. Some Pep Boys, some other places as well, carry them. Quote
ohio_bassin Posted May 11, 2007 Posted May 11, 2007 I bought a "blem" series 27 for $28.00 with a one year warranty. I can't even find what the blem is. But for that price I'll take my chance. I'm sure someone in your area is selling blem's you just gotta find out who. I got mine at our local Interstate dealer. ( a blem battery is a battery with a gouge in the plastic or maybe the post is too short, for whatever reason they can't get full retail for them.) Quote
Peter E. Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 Thanks fellas. I will keep an eye out for blems and try lookig at the other abtteries as well. Good fishing folks, Peter Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted May 14, 2007 Super User Posted May 14, 2007 The key thing to remember is reserve amps not cranking amps. Get a deep cycle of 185-200 reserve amps and you should be fine. I have used several brands and have very few complaints. Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted May 15, 2007 Super User Posted May 15, 2007 wallmart has great baterys Yes they do!! I keep hearing that so I called 3 Wal-Mart Super Centers in 3 different towns. 1 of them had no deep cycle batteries at all and the other 2 had one choice each, a 160 reserve amp 27 series. That is not really a very big reserve battery IMO. Quote
