Hike to a new pond and some advice.

I'm hiking to a new isolated pond with my buddy this weekend and I need to go light for the journey, so I'm taking 2 setups and the following:

 

A 3/8 oz spinnerbait.

A 1/2 oz lipless crankbait.

A 110 Whopper Plopper.

A couple of 10.5 inch worms with 1/4 oz bullet weights.

 

I'm going with a 7 ft MH/F casting setup spooled with 14# mono. 

 

I'm also taking a spinning outfit for Senkos with the option of Wacky or Texas. 6'6" MF. 10# mono with a 10# 5' fluoro leader.

 

Anything you guys would alter with these setups? Particularly the casting setup to be able to do all that I want to do "good enough"?

No, you have a good collection of lures.  As long as you have senko's we are good!!!!!!!

If there's cover I would up the line to 17lb or 30lb braid.

We don't really know how the cover is or isn't. Really trying to be middle of the road, so to speak.

Ok I gotcha. I love doing that too man. I live in the scrubs with a bunch of ponds hidden everywhere. I pull out Google maps and the 4 wheeler and ride around fishing all day. A back pack really helps too. Good luck bro

I'd swap out the mono for braid on the spinning rod.  My Brooke Trout hacking errr hiking in VT has taught me that the more secluded ponds often have lots of weeds/wood around them as no human has trampled on or pulled out.  AND no line twist, the braid will not foul where the mono may and might be enough to effect it's usability.

Bushwhacking with two rods sounds like a nightmare, I would ditch the spinning combo if the casting one can handle a senko.
