TheFishingFool Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Im looking into buying another baitcaster reel. Im looking to spend 150$ or maybe a little more. I have interest in the lews crush or Daiwa tatula r but im not dead set on anything yet. If anyone has any suggestions shoot them this way. Thanks. Quote
BigAngus752 Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 What do you intend to do with it? This would help with the suggestions I suspect. Quote

Super User Columbia Craw Posted October 4, 2017 Super User Posted October 4, 2017 I've had my Tatula SV for a month now and it performs beyond my expectations. I was able to get mine for just under your price limit. That would be my suggestion. 1 Quote

I have a Tatula SV and while it is a really outstanding reel it's best used for casting light lures. If you want to cast weightless wacky rig Senkos at distance (or anything light) the SV it your best bet for sure. But my crankbait reel is a Tatula CT. It holds more line and I can more easily adjust it for great distance in the weight range of most crankbaits. You can get a CT on eBay for $80 and it really outshines my more expensive Revo SX. I would imagine I will own at least a couple more CTs in the near future. And another SV actually... Quote

IndianaOutdoors Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 I just got my sv in the mail. I'm very impressed just from casting in the yard. Can't wait to try skipping some jigs. 1 Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted October 4, 2017 Super User Posted October 4, 2017 I have two Tatula SVs, liked the first one so much I bought a second. One was $155 and the other was $135. Definitely going to be tough to beat in the price range. Quote
Super User burrows Posted October 4, 2017 Super User Posted October 4, 2017 Curado I is 149$ that’s the best you can get for 150 and it’s a great reel for all your applications. Quote

Butter smooth micro mod gears and is a long caster. If you want a big curado, pass on the I and get the K. Of course the k is better but we’re talking about the best for 150 and if thats all I had to spend I’d buy another 200i Quote
Can't Catch Bass Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 I just picked up a brand new curado 71hg with free shipping for $139 from Kames in OH. Those are excellent reels. 1 Quote
NY_Jig Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 I have two Lews Tournament MB's ($139), 6:8:1 and 8:3:1 respectively on my jig rods. Very smooth and well built reels for the money. Sharp looking reels as far as aesthetics go as well if that matters to you. I would buy more in a heart beat and most likely will. I can't justify spending the money on some of these high priced reels when $150 can buy you tournament grade performance. 3 Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 At $150 any of the mainstream reels are a safe bet. You'd have to try to go wrong. It boils down to features, preferences and deals. 1 Quote

Just as smooth as the first day I bought them. Can't beat these reels at that price point...which buy the way can be had for under 110 on ebay brand new. 1 Quote

Or you could get a RH 7.5:1 Tournament MB for $99.99 from Home SXX Store. I've never purchased from them so I would do a check on there store rating first. Both with free shipping. Quote
GreenGhostMan Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 For $150 or under, I'd have to suggest the Lew's Tournament MB... Wicked distance and smooth as butter. Quote
