Hi guys! Í search a new rod for fishing whit chatterbaits in open waters. I look a St Croix Mojo Glass 7,4 mh to 1/4 -3/4 oz and Wright & Mcgill Skeet Reese Lipless 7 m to 1/2-1oz. Both are glass. Are good options for chatterbaits 3/8-1/2oz whit fluoro/mono lines?

Thanks guys, but i search a option in the range 100$-150$, and models of Dobyns are up to 200$. Other options more cheaper?

Thanks!

A little higher than what you are looking for but on the Dobyn's website you can get a factory mislabeled one for $170.

I use a Hammer Rods 6' 9" H/F Micro guide rod. It's been excellent for them and I fish them a ton.

I'd def check around Dobyn's until you see a mismarked or refurbed 735/6. That rod is the bomb. I don't have the MH mojo glass, but I've got the medium version, it's too light. Definitely too light. You would probably be very happy with the MH. It might be too light for a 1/2 chatterbait with a trailer. The medium I have is fine for a 1/4, but too light for a 3/8+trailer.

Have you fished a glass rod before? You should consider that first I personally don’t like the feel of a glass rod maybe you should be looking at a graphite rod like a St. Croix mhmf mojo spinnerbait I use this rod for the applications you are talking about. And it’s a very good rod.

Agreed. I tried a glass rod for bladed jigs and hated it. You don't need a glass rod to keep from taking the bait away from the fish. If they want to eat it, they're going to eat it. The rod companies just want you to believe that so you'll buy one of their special rods that says "chatterbaits" on it  It's not like a crankbait that you need a rod that won't rip the hooks out after the fish is hooked.

I don't think you need a  deticated rod for Chatterbait and IMHO a fiberglass or blended rod will end up just taking up space on the boat. I have run chatterbait on M/F, MH/F, MH crankbait rods.  It depends on size and techniques

I have a custom glass rod from TigerRodz I had made for chatterbaits if you are interested. I fish from a kayak so how many rods I take is limited and since I don't catch them on chatterbaits it sits in the closet every trip.
