Super User Columbia Craw Posted September 30, 2017 Super User Posted September 30, 2017 Savage Gear has a top water bat ? What's next, the Pot Belly Pig wake bait ? 1 Quote
BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted September 30, 2017 BassResource.com Administrator Posted September 30, 2017 Yup, here it is... 2 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 30, 2017 Global Moderator Posted September 30, 2017 I've caught fish on mine. I have the middle size grey bat. If you like the Pompadour, you'll like the bat. It's actually not as noisy as I expected, but it gets their attention. 2 Quote
DSTN Posted September 30, 2017 Posted September 30, 2017 One if these days I won't be able to resist the sales at Dicks anymore and I'll pick one up. Definitely want to try. What's more fun than testing out new topwater lures? 2 Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 Savage gear rules! I have almost all their swimbaits. Durable, affordable and they flat out work. Quote
BuzzHudson19c Posted October 1, 2017 Posted October 1, 2017 It looks like a good "crawling" type of bait. The fact that it's a bat is an irrelevant gimmick. 2 Quote

I don't know that I'd call it a "gimmick", as fish do certainly eat bats in the rare occurrence they come in contact with them, but I look at it as another crawler that just happens to look like a bat. No way do I believe a fish sees it and gets excited because it's going to get to eat a bat. 5 Quote
Primus Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 You can call me " Batman " as I just bought one yesterday 2 Quote

Super User NHBull Posted October 3, 2017 Super User Posted October 3, 2017 I am starting to think that baits like the rat, duck, WP and now the bat are all so similar it doesn't matter. This year I caught similar numbers on the 110 As I did last yr on the rat. Admitably, water conditions can change things a bit, but I see these as largely the same. I will be passing in this one. "One time I was out fishin at night and I heard some scratchin in the brush. I turn my headlamp and there was a baby possum. It couldn't see well and crawled right into the lake. Within seconds a monster largemouth devoured the possum! That got me to thinking about the how I could create my own possum style bait. The new Savage Gear "Rabid Possum" is the culmination of a year of research and development. We brought together top possum experts from around the globe to get the action just right. It wiggles and crawls the same way a baby possum does in distress and the fish go absolutely crazy for it. It's just too good a meal for them to pass up! The Savage Gear "Rabid Possum" coming February 2020, ($23.99). 3 Quote
