Hey all,

I'm addicted to fishing, but not great...I figure fake it, til I make it.  Anyway I have mostly shimano gear,

2-zodias spin rods w/ stradic ci4+

3-crucials cast rods w/ curados

1-phenix cast w/ cardiff for salt

1-dobyns champion xp (favorite now) cast w/chonarch mgl

1-13 fish *** black cast w/curado

So what I am looking for is a travel rod (bait and cast) in the 1-200 dollar range each

I am going up to Idaho to Henry's lake and catch some trout and figuring it would be cool to throw in a backpack for my dirtbike rides also.

Right now I have a Fenwick Methods spin which I'm pretty happy with for what it is.

I'm looking at the following

st.croix triumph

fenwick HMG

g.loomis signature

daiwa ardito

13 fish *** ***

Anyone have any experience with these...I like the fenwicks because they have 2 different tips so you can order a rod with UL&L,ML&M,M&MH but would like to hear your guys input.  Will be throwing them in my duffle on the plane ride.

Much thanks

Taryn

Diawa Ardito... they make in M and MH.  I have the M/F.  It's typical Diawa quality.

I've flown Jet Blue with it as carry on.

About 15 years ago I bought a 6'6" MH fast 2-piece Tourney Trail from Cabelas for $80 to take to Florida.  That rod is still going strong and is as light, or lighter than anything produced today.  I have used the daylights out of it. In retrospect I guess I lucked out because it was a quick buy to stick in the trunk.

If you have the lighter methods, you won't do better than that for trout and finesse. The Ardito is a great travel rod for bass and inshore work.
