G. Loomis IMX Reaction Casting Rod - 6' 8" MF

and

G. Loomis IMX Casting Mag Bass Rod - 6' 6" MHF

These two rods are on sale at TackleWarehouse.com and I'm looking for a rod to freshwater bass fish. I found information on Magnum Taper rod, but nothing on the reaction rod. Anybody know more about it?

I originally wanted to pair it with a Shimano Calcutta, but decided to buy a Shimano Curado K with 7.2:1 gear ratio from a friend.

I would like to use this set up for most baits and lures, which rod would work best?

I've got the IMX Reaction rod - 802c TWR. It's for topwater and is excellent for that technique. I'll typically throw a heavier lure than its rated with no noticeable effect. With a Curado 70 and 20# sufix 832, casts a mile and is easy to use all day catching good size Stripers.

It's got more flex in the tip than a "fast" rod, maybe leaning more towards a mod fast. The other rod is a MH and probably more versatile.

I like a longer rod. The MBR844C is perhaps my favorite production rod. You could

fish almost everything with it, but mine is a dedicated to jigs and weighted soft plastics.

The mag bass rod is the most versatile of the two. Great all around rod.
