Neko rig help?

So I'm new to the site, I looked thru the first 10 pages and some of the senko post.  I personally don't use senko for my neko rig.   But I'm sure I should.  

 

Here is my issue, I read a good article on advance neko rigging and the pro in the article used G Seven( fishing tackle company in Japan) silicon tube instead of an o ring.   I insert some picture.  I can't find where to buy that product and I'm having a hard time finding a tube like that.   Been to hardware stores, lowes, home and other places.   I like the way the hook  goes thru the silicone.   To me that would last longer and the gar would have harder time stealing it.  So to my question, what do you think I can use?     Thanks.  Working on a photo.

You and I read the same article. I've searched all over Google and jdm websites to no avail. I'm gonna have to follow this post too ha.

You can find clear tubing at tropical fish stores. Tubing is sold by outside diameter and wall thickness. You need to measure your soft plastic Senko or worm to determine it's diameter and locate tubing that will fit.

The issue with the clear tubing I have found is that it does not stretch and the walls are thick.    It may be hard to punch your hook through.   To me this stuff is like the band you would have on a sling shot.

Try a medical supply store. Pretty sure you might find the tubing your looking for. I have used the heat-shrink tubing you can buy at an auto store for wacky rigging in the past worked perfectly for me. I just used a back sharpie to color it after heating.

Ive used clear spinnerbait/jig skirt rings before. Alittle small but worked just fine,using the pliers that are used to open up the ring.

I tried this with clear shrink tubing for wacky rigs and it didn't work very well.  I would have a nice bite and go to set the hook and all I'd get back was a bare hook with the shrink tubing threaded through the it.  The fish would completely suck the worm out of the rig and I'd lose the worm.  Unless this silicone ring is different and grips the worm more I'm fairly certain the same thing would happen.

If you want the hook across the worm and don’t feel real good about ordering from Japan direct... use 2 o rings and make an X with them works too.

Use a hitchhiker.  Heat a  small piece of heat shrink on it high enough where you can still screw it in. Place your hook thru the heat shrink & the top ring. Make a bunch in advance of your trip. For added durability, you can put a drop of super glue on the screw before inserting.

I use red silicone o-rings and don't worry about loosing Senko's/worms with a nail weight when catching bass. If I catch 10 bass with a bag of 10 worms or Senko's it's money well spent.

Regular o rings have worked fine for me. Cheap and readily available.
