Hammerdown Posted September 27, 2017 Posted September 27, 2017 I am putting together a combo , it will be a rig for pitching 1/2 or so Oz jigs into real heavy cover (logs and such), maybe a little dock skipping and some casting of chatter baits. Having a rod built it's a 7'2" heavy fast. I was looking at this reel was wanting to know if it is suitable. I was also considering a steez sv tws. What's your thoughts? Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted September 27, 2017 Super User Posted September 27, 2017 I have the HLC TWS reel (Japan model) and I use it for frogging. It does a great job skipping frogs up under overhanging trees and docks. It also can handle big fish in the thick stuff while frogging. Obviously the Steez is a Steez. So there's that. Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted September 27, 2017 Super User Posted September 27, 2017 I use the steez SV TW /w 20# shooter on a custom Phenix K2 736 for exactly that. Love it. No issues. Smoothest reel I've ever used. It's a pretty small reel, too. Quote
