Last year I posted about changes in my job I didnt like. Things seemed to have stabilized ,and I had learned how to deal with the office politics and micromanagement. I was having a very stable year, but not near as good as the last two,but still enough. Since I do comission only sales,I depend on office leads and whatever I can generate on my own. The last 6 weeks or so the bottom has fallen out. Today was the third straight day with 0 $. I was told today by a potential customer that she had decided not to go with us because her dad had a bad experience with the service sideand they would NEVER use us again. I have worked there since 1993 largely because of the integrity and family atmosphere. I now have lost confidence that the techs can produce what I am selling, because of this incident and many others Im hearing about. So today I officially started looking.Dont know where this will end up except that I know God has a plan for me to provide for my wife, daughter, and 2 g- kids. I would appreciate your thoughts and prayers.

Started thinking today I might talk to the GM and see if I can go back out on the service truck for awhile. Im getting kind of old for that but maybe itll carry me through until spring. It seems like they really need help there anyway.

( but I'll still be looking elsewhere ) Part of me wants to save the day and help them since it has been a good job and met our needs all these years. The service side is what I did anyway for 19 years.

But its kind of like going backwards through a door Ive already been through. So...I dont know.

Thanks for the prayers and support. I did get one small sale today.

Godspeed my friend.

I've been looking for 5 years since I became disabled. Office work is tough to get used to for a guy who has worked alone for the better part of 25 years. There's something else out there for me and I'll know it when I find it. I'm confident you will as well. Could be worse. Much easier to sift thru jobs when you are employed than when you are desperate.

Just remember Mike, the same attributes that kept you employed all these years at your current job are the same qualities a different company could use. Good luck finding your new job and hope you enjoy it.

Don't worry ride the wave. I rode the wave in many companies. Like I said before I worked three months a year for three years. I planted a very large garden. Plus we lived off of marked down meats at a local super market. I started selling firewood. Even when I was working I never gave it up. I always kept my chainsaws sharp ready to go. I lost so many jobs due to recessions. I made only $10k for each of those three years it taught me how little we could live on and still eat good and my bills were paid.

dont stress yourself out. Don't let your kids see you stress.

one of my best friends quote; he said he'd never return to a job. Never go backwards always move forwards. Together we closed many manufacturing companies. We went from sinking ship to sinking ship. Then everything fell into place.

fact, everytime I lost a job due to a recession or cut backs my next job was always better and paid more.

On my last job of 20years my new boss asked me when I first started what I thought of unions. I told him a worker doesn't need a union and I could eat my lunch anywhere.

remember when your being interviewed for a new job. To interview them too just to make sure you want to work there too. I been interviewed for some sleezey jobs in the past.

I told my boss once during a job review I was here for the money. Like there not?  Like I loved where I worked?

boy did that open up a can of worms. I had three little kids that ate like me. Plus the family dog too. I was there to work, to make money not friends. I never took any rap  from anyone. My back up was cutting and selling firewood. I was so happy in the forests cutting trees with the animals.
