Super User Catt Posted May 7, 2007 Super User Posted May 7, 2007 Make certain you center the jack plate to the transom other than that it's a piece of cake to install. Setting the correct height is aint that hard either far a 25 hp; a good starting point would be setting the anti-cavitation plate around 1 ¼ from the bottom of the boat. Quote
northgabassfisher Posted May 7, 2007 Posted May 7, 2007 so your just wanting a switch so you can use your jack plate, i have the teleflex trim switch and i love it they also make a jackplate switch its about 40-60 buck and its real simple to put on. and it goes on the steering wheel so you wont have to keep taking your hands off the wheel. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10151&catalogId=10001&langId=-1&partNumber=7396&hvarTarget=search&cmCat=SearchResults Quote
flyphisher # Posted May 8, 2007 Author Posted May 8, 2007 Manual jackplate....no switch needed... Have a river runner skeg guard, half propguard on it....so I am going to set just deep enough to run good,so i dont have to mess with it anymore......plus i will be able to run alot more shallow than i can now....Will make motor more efficient too. Duck hunting and exploratory/flyfishing trips can be ruined by a peak usage tide change, if you know what i mean....this jackplate will make getting out of some places easier if the water drops....waist deep mud is not fun....
