Strange sound from anti reverse sleeve and bearing

So i did a thorough cleaning of my energy baitcaster and part of that was the anti reverse bearing. Used degreaser and made sure to get all the old gunk out, reapplied new grease on sleeve and bearing but now it sounds like its rubbing or kind of a dry squeaky sound but it has a good amount of grease to the point where i think anymore would be to much. I tried turning the sleeve with my finger while its inside the bearing and you can hear the noise/squeak, what should i do next?

Clean it really well and use oil not grease.

just tried that, same thing but a much louder squeak now haha back to the grease

Add more its probably still dry. Add it right to the bearing its self then add thin even coat on sleeve

There still might be something caught up in the bearing causing it to make noise. Something simular happened to me awhile ago I cleaned out all the old grease added oil put reel back together and it was making noise and felt rough. I fully flushed it then used a qtip to clean it. After I used reel oil cleand up the excess and after 30 min of fishing it was fine.

added some more oil and the noise has definitely gotten less noticeable, ill take, it is a brand new reel, havent fished it yet but i always lube up my new reels before the first fish. We will see if it goes away completely on the water tomorrow! Thanks buddy, cheers

Same. Every time I get a new reel I always strip it down do a full cleaning then I relube everything with a approiate amount of grease and oil. Only thing I do differently then everyone else is my bearings. While everyone else soaks in chemicals I use keyboard cleaner in a can. All you need to do is put the straw on gap between the roller and shield and blow everything out. Make sure you do both sides and go around the whole thing. I've been doing it this way for about 10 years with no issues. Its always worked great for me. Plus you can clean bearings on the fly this way. If you want to make sure there really clean give them a acetone bath first.

Haha if your every doing a bearing on a car, put the old one in a vice and put air to it and stand back hahaha

I hate doing wheel bearings its such a pain. Especially when its seized in the hub. I rather do a timing belt and water pump then that.
