Super User NHBull Posted September 22, 2017 Super User Posted September 22, 2017 Folks, While the pro V is my dream boat, reality is that impact may the better family decision. This caught my attention and an open to input on price and options along with anything else I would need I have an appointment this weekend to look at new boats. Thanks for any input Al https://nh.craigslist.org/boa/d/2014-lund-1875-impact-sport/6261722920.html Quote
Super User MickD Posted September 22, 2017 Super User Posted September 22, 2017 I have no idea if the price is right, but the boat looks like new. One comment from experience from my old Monark, if the rod locker on the side lets the rods move fore and aft, then it is possible that they will move while trailering and break the tips off as they contact the bulkhead. Not hard to cobble a fix, but be aware. I broke 2 rods in mine before I figured it out. I have a Rebel 1650 SS and love it. 1 Quote
Joseph B. Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 Looks like a lot of boat and motor for the price and low hours on motor. I've spent many hours on line looking at used boats, and this one would rank at the top based on what I have found and based on pricing new ones. 1 Quote
Super User slonezp Posted September 22, 2017 Super User Posted September 22, 2017 A new one without electronics or trolling motor is going to run 33k or so plus options. Its probably priced competitively. 1 Quote
jbmaine Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 Hi, I just went thru the same type of search and can suggest a couple of things. If you go to the Lund web site you can build a boat and get a pretty good idea what a new one costs. I can't tell from the pic's if the seat pedestals are air ride or not. Not a big deal but we found the air ride more comfortable. All in all looks like a great boat. Also shorelandr trailers get good reviews. Jim 1 Quote
Super User slonezp Posted September 22, 2017 Super User Posted September 22, 2017 If the motor checks out, I'd probably flip for 3 new batteries and be done with it. Motor may have 1 more year of warranty depending on what time of year it was purchased. (Mercury has been known to give 2 year warranty extension past the original 3 for boats purchased from Jan 1st to March 31st) You do lose the lifetime hull warranty buying used. You can have the hull warranty transferred for a small price by a Lund dealer, but 2nd owner only get 10 years. 1 Quote
Super User Further North Posted September 23, 2017 Super User Posted September 23, 2017 I have a friend who has an Impact and know two other guys who have them. No complaints from any of them that I have heard. One thing I like about the Impact is much narrower gunnels than most Lunds...I don't like that dead space around the outside of the boat. Rumor has it that a certain Lund Predator may be for sale soon...I migh call that guy if I were looking for a boat.. I'd also check out the new Crestliner Bass Hawks if I wasn't in a hurry to buy this fall. 2 1 Quote

A-Jay So much for thinking out loud As I was telling @A-Jay It's just the voices in my head...The Predator will no longer be owned by the bank after next month. She will never be worth more than she will be, this spring. Soon the market will be riddled with 1875's and 2075's. If I think with my head, she will be up for sale in the spring. If I think with my heart, I will be buried with her. 3 Quote

I look at a boat like your Predator and - like my old CMV - see no reason to "upgrade". I'm not sure "upgrade" applies. If I manage to do something dumb and blow the motor, I'll replace it. I'd have wreck the hull for me to get a new boat. 1 Quote

Went fishing with the kid today and we talked about it. Halfway thru the morning dad called and wanted to know what days in October we are going to Sturgeon Bay. I think the decision has been made for at least another year. 3 Quote
