Hello everyone!  I just wanted to share this picture.  My son just turned two and I’m beginning to introduce him to the art of fishing.  I got him a bass fishing toy and so far he loves it. I can’t thank all of you enough for the information on this site.  It has helped me to become a better fisherman and I look forward to passing what I’ve learned on to my son.  Tight lines everyone!

Can't start them too early! My oldest was 2.5 when he caught his first fish by himself, and I credit that a lot to the fact that he was just over a year old when I got him his first combo to play with. Keep it up and you'll raise your own fishing buddy!

That's cute. My dad inadvertently made me a southpaw. I had no idea I was using lefty reels for years.

Looks like he's ready for the batman/scooby doo/Disney spin caster of his choice.

They work surprisingly well. I still have my daughter's Barbie or princess spincaster to which tons of fish large and small fell victim to. She started fishing when she was about 4 when I first started fishing. She just earned her drivers license yesterday and will be 18 next month.

Time flies and it seems like only yesterday when she made her first cast and caught a trout in seconds. I know I don't have to tell you to cherish each and every moment because you will. Enjoy the ride and the journey.

Great job bro! I was late introducing my son to fishing for whatever reason IDK. I started at around 4 yrs old. He just turned 8 and flips with a 7' 6" like a pro. You will be so proud when he lands his first one.

Yup my oldest son was 3yo when he caught his first trout on opening day.

Is that thing robotic and does it really bite?

If so I need one.

Errr, for my son.

Yes it swims around like a robotic bass.  It comes with two magnetic lures and when it makes contact it fights almost like the real deal.  When I had to take a fishing hiatus due to Harvey  I played with it also lol!
