Ksam1234 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Was just out on the canoe and was wondering to myself. How often does everyone fish? Or what is there most consecutive days fishing if they ever counted. 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted September 20, 2017 Super User Posted September 20, 2017 How often do I fish varies, sometimes 3 or 4 days a week, some weeks not at all, & some weeks 4 or 5 days. Most conservative days, I've had several trips of up 17 days straight. When I got divorced back in 1982 I spent 2 month at duck camp back in a marsh hunting & fishing every day. 3 Quote
Todd2 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 I'm lucky to get out once a week with everything going on...but it's honestly more than most guys I fish with. The most consecutive would be about 4 or 5, those are long 8 hours or more, that we do on our KY lake trip in the Spring. By day 4 I'm usually feeling it pretty good. 3 Quote
IndianaFinesse Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 I fish between two and seven days a week, usually averaging out at about five days a week. I've never counted, but my most consecutive days with time on the water is very roughly 40-50. When I say time on the water, it doesn't mean that I was able to fish all day. Often I can only get out for a couple hours. Quote
Scarborough817 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 normally 1-2 days a week i try to take advantage of the limited season we have up here so i branch into pike in the spring to get out as early as possible, though i do take at least a week of in the summer or fall to spend at the cottage by myself and fish as much as humanly possible Quote
Rollincoal420 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 I'm averaging 6-7 days a week. I'm lucky enough to get off work early enough to get a couple hrs in each day during the week. And push for a 6hr day on the weekends. That doesn't mean I'm catching. Lol. I'm averaging 1-2 a Week if I'm actually catching. That being said, this pattern has been going on since mid July, and I can say, my 2 hrs each week day has been less and less exciting and I find myself getting to hot headed when things start heading south. (Snags, backslashes, and whatnots) it used to be everything I can do not to stay over my designated time limit, lately it's been a struggle to make it long enough to reach my time limit. Quote
Troy85 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 I try to go at least once a week. In the summer when the days are longer I'll go after work and fish Wednesday evening tournaments near me. Most consecutive is probably 7, usually when me my dad, bro and cousins go on fishing vacations. 1 Quote
CroakHunter Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 I only fish hard 2 times a year. I may get out and fish for over 2 hrs, 5 times a year. 1 Quote
BuzzHudson19c Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 I go twice a week for around 8hrs each day. I have a 2 month old at home so that's all I can swing without the Mrs getting angry. I take a week off from work every year just to fish. Last year I managed to fish 10 days straight and a few were sun up until sun down. 3 Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 This year I've tried to fish either Saturday or Sunday each week, though between bad weather, high water level in the river and home obligations that hasn't always happened. The only chance I get to fish consecutive days is our annual Kentucky Lake fishing vacation. Then it's 6 days of 12+ hours on the water each day. 1 Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted September 20, 2017 Super User Posted September 20, 2017 Weather permitting, every day on local ponds, Saturday on big water. Then I have four big trips and a couple of trout outings on the White River. Toledo Bend this spring was a first and probably an extended trip to Pickwick this fall. Next April several members and I are planning a trip to Table Rock. I you are interested in joining us...YOU'RE INVITED! 3 Quote
Super User fishwizzard Posted September 20, 2017 Super User Posted September 20, 2017 I am real hot/cold when it comes to time, I am usually slammed with work or traveling for a few weeks at a time and will not make it out at all. Then I come home and fish every day for a week or three before the cycle starts up again. I am trying to shift my work to be heaviest in the dead of winter and summer, but am having limited luck so far. 1 Quote
Sword of the Lord Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 I fish every Friday evening, Saturday morning or evening, and Sunday morning. I've fished Monday and Tuesday this week and I'm going after work today as well. That just leaves Thursday and I'll probably fish then too. 1 Quote
RichF Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 While my girlfriend was in law school in DC, I lived back in our hometown in northern NY. During those years, I fished 8-10hr days 3 days a week from late March to the end of November. That included upwards of 20 tournaments a year. Since the move to Arlington, VA (almost 2 yrs), I'm down to fishing maybe 15 to 20 times, half of which are tournaments. I need more time on the water. 1 Quote
Ksam1234 Posted September 20, 2017 Author Posted September 20, 2017 Nice to hear how everyone does ! During the summer I was going out in the mornings prob 4-5 days a week but eventually the misses stArts getting upset after never being home. So I keep it around 2 days a week now. Once on a weekday for 5 hours in he early morning. Then on a weekend I'll fish or try to fish from sunup to sundown ! The Bassman Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Since getting on to a few ponds close by I get out pretty much daily. Some guys unwind with a beer after work. I prefer to wrestle with a few bass. Mellows me a bit before the wife gets home. 2 Quote

Super User JustJames Posted September 20, 2017 Super User Posted September 20, 2017 Normally 3 short days a week but if weather is right I can stretch to 5 days but those are in 2-4 hours trip. I just started seriously bass fishing last year when I met my fishing buddy and I works 6 days a week so the most we do was 1 day 10 hours. 1 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted September 20, 2017 Super User Posted September 20, 2017 I've done a week straight on a few trips to Canada, and in the past few years, I've spent 9-11 days up there. Even at 29, my shoulders and wrists start to feel it after that many days on the water casting and fighting fish. I could only imagine what someone twice my age feels after that many days on the water in a row. 1 Quote
CybrSlydr Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 Going to school full-time and working part-time, I usually get out once/week. Maybe twice if I've got a wild hair. This weekend I'll be heading up to Hoover Reservoir with my brother, see if we can FINALLY catch a darn smallmouth. Quote
Sword of the Lord Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 I think the fact that my bass thumb hasn't fully healed in months says a lot. 2 1 Quote
Bassfishin91 Posted September 20, 2017 Posted September 20, 2017 I try to make out at least 1-2 times a week. I used to average 4-7 times a week with my previous job schedule and be out there for 3-4 hours bank fishing several canals. The most consecutive amount that i went out was 14 days straight and catching a few dinks at least every day. Wish i was able to fish like i used too. Quote
Super User the reel ess Posted September 20, 2017 Super User Posted September 20, 2017 I try to fish once a week but life and weather happen. I often fail. During winter that trails way off because I mostly kayak fish. When it's cold I go with a buddy in his boat. When I was a kid my family had a lake house where we spent most of our vacations. I would fish every day, several times a day when we were there. Even catfishing at night. 1 Quote
