LadiMopar Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Hi everyone! I've been a fan of bassresource for quite some time and finally decided to stop lurking in the Lilly pads and join in the conversation here. I've been fishing for the better part of fifty years now thanks to a dad who didn't believe "girls shouldn't do that". For many of those years I was happy to fish most any species, but when I caught a three pounder on ultra light tackle some thirty years ago the pursuit of the magical green fish became my obsession. An obsession I continue to share with my daughter (who caught her first lunker over 25 years ago at age 10) and grandsons. I spent a great deal of time bank fishing after the loss of my pickup truck, an issue that has since been resolved, and have traded the little flat bottom boat for a fishing kayak which has been a great adventure. It's been really wonderful to get to those little, quiet low pressured areas that bigger boats or anglers on land can't reach. Not just for the bass but for the connection with the water and surrounding flora and fauna. With my first season in the kayak under my belt I'm looking towards doing some tournaments next year, so if any of you have advice for this kayak fishing newbie I'd be grateful for any pearls of wisdom you'd like to share. Looking forward to getting to know folks here, and to offer whatever help and support I can to those generations coming along behind us so our sport continues to grow into the future. Tight lines! GrumpyOlPhartte Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Hello from the cheap seats of far western Massachusetts! Glad to meet another kayak fishing enthusiast. Hope you're doing better than I am this year. The li'l beggars same to have migrated from my neck of the woods toward your area. I've washed a lot of lures; haven't exactly impressed anyone with my catches. Quote

LadiMopar Posted September 16, 2017 Author Posted September 16, 2017 Thanks for the warm welcome everybody. Hope to see some of you from my neck of the New England woods on the water one day soon. Although NHBull I'll probably have to win the lottery to come over the border to fish in your waters.... GrumpyOl don't feel bad about your season; mine started out strong and I think all the bass have migrated too the last month. Maybe they heard about the big merger between Bass pro and Cabelas and swam east! ? 1 Quote
