RPreeb Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 Wish I'd had my phone ready when I caught a 4 incher last week on a 3" popper. Many years ago I caught a 3" LM on a Jitterbug casting plug. Largemouth bass clearly have a problem with ego, or delusions of grandeur. They will hit a bait that they couldn't possibly swallow even if it was something alive. Quote
OCdockskipper Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 This little guy was such a bad*** that he went for the center hook. Interesting how both your & mine were caught on the same lure, Rapala X-Rap 1 4 Quote

Bassin' Brad Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 I had a similar experience the other day! This 4 incher tried to eat my 5" senko! What's so funny is that when I pulled him out of the water all he had a hold of was the tail! The hook was still buried up in the top of the senko..... 2 Quote
GrumpyOlPhartte Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Hey! Look at the bright side! The taxidermist can't charge too much to mount those for you. Just make sure he includes the lure in the mount! ? 2 Quote
Super User islandbass Posted September 16, 2017 Super User Posted September 16, 2017 I don't have a pic but I caught a smallie that was considerably shorter than my robo worm. So where can I pick up my masters certificate? 1 Quote

Funny thing was this little dink rips up and grabs the lure just as I was pulling it out of the water. I was like, 'Seriously?' I quick snapped a pic, then he fell off and landed in my tackle box. There was something truly comical about this moment, looking at this little bass flopping around among all my other lures. I fished him out and tossed him back. Quote

Super User soflabasser Posted September 17, 2017 Super User Posted September 17, 2017 You know you are master angler when.... You are doing better than most of the local bass fishing guides in your area. You are consistently catching big bass in tough conditions when others are complaining about how bad the conditions are. You catch more state citation sized fish in 1 year of fishing than most catch in 10 years of fishing. You have people offering you free boat fishing trips so you can put them on fish. You go out of your way to teach children and good people how to fish and you do it for free since you enjoy seeing the smile on their face when they are catching fish. 1 2 Quote
Sword of the Lord Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 I had a little bluegill annihilate a whopper plopper right when it hit the water today. I was like, are you serious? Really? 1 Quote

Angealy Posted September 17, 2017 Posted September 17, 2017 Here's a few fish from yesterday, We had fun catching these. Turtle was okay, He didn't get hooked but rather just bit down on the hook and worm and wouldn't let it go. OLD PICTURE but still look at this little guy. 2 Quote
