NJfishinGuy Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 im looking to get a 24volt system on my 99 tracker 165. i have a 55lb powerdrive now. i can get a 65lb all terrain for 400 bucksbut im wondering is this a good motor? any problems you know of? i know they changed it to the edge now. also what would be envolved with converting it over. i know i need 2 batteries but will my existing wires handle the 24v setup? lowe160 Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 The all terrain was(is) one of the best motors they made. I used a 50AT for seven years and it as still going when I sold the boat. my brother had a 40AT on his boat for five years before he sold that boat and we never had any problems. Your wiring should be 6 gauge but probably could use 8 gauge if boat is no more than 16'. Wayne Quote
bassnleo Posted April 17, 2007 Posted April 17, 2007 I currently own 2 AT's, great, rugged, reliable motor. Quote
Super User cart7t Posted April 17, 2007 Super User Posted April 17, 2007 I've also had an AT since the old MK power drive went overboard. Great motor. Quote
