bright color jigs

Shad-  you have a good point.  My question wasnt very well thought out.

I do not have much luck on bright colored jig skirts.  Most of my fish come off colors like black, brown, dark greens.  Do you guys have good success with whites, bright greens, yellows, charts etc.

When you stop and think about it, natural colors can be pretty wild too.  Take a look at a blue gill.  I have a jig that has a skirt that I took from a spinner bait that has orange, green pumpkin, blue and silver in it.  I have it on a bright yellow head and I have caught fish jiggin this thing up next to stumps when fish are holding tight to cover.  I also have a white jig with white skirt and white trailer and I have caught fish swimming this jig through heavy cover.

It seems to me that "dark" is the usual suspect, but white is ALWAYS an option.

There is a Ga company called Ol Nelle that makes some great jigs, only company that makes a flipping jig with a gammie EWG hook. They have a few colors that have i havent seen elsewhere... One is GA Craw- bright orange and brown, another is Dragonfly- real natural blues,golds,green pumpkin,- works great on a SB or jig, looks just like a bream to me...  Use it in clear to light stain and the craw color in stain and mud, blue bird skies...... When fish are hitting the craw color they whack it hard...

Take this from someone who is NOT a great jig fisherman.

I use black/blue, watermelon, or white only.  usually with matching trailer.

dont want to hijcack the thread so will start new one on favorite trailer.

i never use bright color jigs but if it imatates bluegill with there bright colors so i guese you could catch fish if there eating blue gills
