Jamers Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 hey guys I just received my mtb (august 2017) box and every lure in it is too big to catch fish from shore (in my city atleast) and I was wondering... what do you do with oversized lures, I don't want to waste them so just what do I do. if you guys are wondering it has: a topwater frog that is as big as my palm (I'm 14) a topwater popper that is about 5" and is probably about 3/4 of an inch wide. a jerkbait that is exactly 4" and a bunch of soft plastics and hooks (these are small enough) in my area (barrie, ON) you cant catch big fish from shore unless your lucky so these lures are just attrocious overall just what do you do with oversized lures Quote
Scarborough817 Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 they're not too big just throw them trust me Quote
CroakHunter Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 They're not over sized, just different from what you usually throw. Research some of them and learn the technique and you'll be surprised what a "large" lure will catch Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted September 13, 2017 Global Moderator Posted September 13, 2017 The fish will still hit them, they have no idea how big they are (or aren't). This was from today with a 6th Sense Cloud 9 Magnum squarebill (4" and 1.5 ounces), literally the first cast. 1 Quote
Ariffy Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 I've seen tiny tiny pike bite huge musky spinners Bass going nuts over large wooden musky plugs, fish don't seem to mind over sized lures just throw it because you never know what they'll bite Quote
Graham Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 The more I fish for bass the more confident I am in big baits, I’ve had 10 inch fish smash 7+ inch baits! Quote
