gall Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 So I've been lookin at their rods more and more and I guess for spinning rod which would everyone go with I Mena 30$ price difference granted diff gripa I guess more so curious about actions sensitivity of the rods i mean both seem like great rods just curious if there's a huge difference Quote
Basseditor Posted September 11, 2017 Posted September 11, 2017 The Mag2 is very sensitive. I don't own any, most of my Kistlers are Hel3 or ZBones, but my friends who have Mag2s swear by them. Quote
gall Posted September 11, 2017 Author Posted September 11, 2017 I guess I'll have ti find a way to get my hands on one it sounds like only thing I'm not too wild about is the win grips never use them so I don't wanna knock them but Quote
thebillsman Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 I have three KLXs but they're all casting rods. I don't like Winn grips at all, so I've never considered the Mag. The KLX is light, really light.. I think all of mine a sub-4oz. It's a great blank, nice cork and reel seat, and good build quality. Needless to say, one of my favorite rod lines and made in the USA. gall Posted September 12, 2017 Author Posted September 12, 2017 That's the thing I like a lot made in the USA I did see the mag2 is 20% one and so on the more rods and I need a new casting rod also it's just a tough choice I never used win grips so I can't really say to much about them but all the blanks being made my Gary loomis is also a nice touch Quote
RichF Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 I have a couple Heliums, an older mag, and a klx. They're all awesome rods. I just ordered 4 of the mag2s to get the 50% off. While I'm not crazy about the color scheme, it was too good of a deal to pass up. I haven't received them yet so I can't really say too much about them. I do know that Kistler makes some fine rods so I'm not too worried. Quote
Scrapiron Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 I have a Mag 2 and it's a fantastic rod (it's my "if I could only have 1 rod..."). It was also my first Winn grip handle and it's very comfortable. I would have no worries ordering another one. I can't speak to the difference between that and a KLX- for 20% I'd get the Mag2, for regular price, I'd probably find the extra scratch. Quote
Super User Tywithay Posted September 12, 2017 Super User Posted September 12, 2017 I have long thought that the KLX were the nicest blanks for the money, for any brand. The Mags are good rods, but those Winn grips aren't very durable, if you fish a lot. Quote
gall Posted September 12, 2017 Author Posted September 12, 2017 Sorry typo there the mag2 is apart of the 20-50% off depending on rods purchased but I mean getting 20% off would bump it down to sub 180 for the rod which I feel is bs great deal and if thr winn grips finally go I can always look into getting it redone in cork the mod I think about it thr more the price sounds right for the mag2 Quote
