Im sure this has been covered here numerous times but i tried to search for it but the search is too narrow and i cannot find a post and i even searched through countless pages on this sub forum and i still couldn't find anything.

I have a Gen 1 BPS Pro Qualifier and when i reel my line in it only spools to the left side. Sometimes it will unlock and spool towards the right but it always gets stuck on the left side and my line just piles up. I would like to get this fixed but i cannot figure out for the life of me what the part is called. I even when on bps site and asked if they could help but i still haven't gotten a response. So if anyone can help me get this figured out i will appreciate it. Thanks

I assume you are talking about a baitcaster.....the part is called the "wormgear"

sounds like a worm gear issue to me.

Awesome! Thanks a bunch guys it's rough having a reel out of commission. I'm going to To look to buy the worm gear and pawl right now. Are they universal parts to baitcasters? Or do I need to look for specific parts for the pro qualifier?

The parts are cheap enough. I'd replace the worm and pawl as a set.

Most likely a worn pawl.

Even call BPS I bet they can fix it for you while you wait. I know the one by me will.

Line guide pawls wear out periodically and are pretty inexpensive parts to keep around if you use a particular model for quite a few years.  Buy a few to have them handy for the next time.

^ This is a good idea. You can prolong the life of the levelwind parts by putting a few drops of oil (not grease) on the worm gear often.

double check that your line is actually going OVER the line guide bar and into the line guide and not UNDER the line guide bar and through the line guide.  i did this on one reel a couple weeks back and couldn't figure out why my reel was suddenly stacking line to one side of the other.  a quick check of the situation revealed i had gone under the stupid line guide bar and then through the line guide which was causing all sorts of issues!

Before you buy anything try to flip the the pawl. I have done that and had success.
