Super User WRB Posted September 5, 2017 Super User Posted September 5, 2017 Batten the hatches Florida, looks like Irma category 4 to 5 hurricane is coming your way. Tom 4 Quote
Super User islandbass Posted September 5, 2017 Super User Posted September 5, 2017 I just saw that on the news earlier this morning. Hurricane season is living up to its name this year. Hope it changes course and misses. Quote

Super User Koz Posted September 5, 2017 Super User Posted September 5, 2017 And tropical storm Jose is not far behind it, also threatening the east coast. We're still cleaning up from last year's Hurricane Matthew and that was only a Cat 2 storm. Quote
Super User WRB Posted September 7, 2017 Author Super User Posted September 7, 2017 After you batten the hatches, get out of Dodge! Irma is now the strongest storm record on earth and it will hit Florida, be smart and listen to what is being forecasted. Tom Quote
XpressJeff Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 As WRB said, put up the shredders and get on the road! Having lived in Coastal NC through the 70s, 80s and early 90s I have ridden out quite a few of them and I understand that leaving is very difficult. But none of those approached Category 5! Don't be silly guys! Quote
Super User Koz Posted September 8, 2017 Super User Posted September 8, 2017 We're going to evacuate within the next day or so. I managed to get a hotel room in Lavonia, GA where I thought we'd be out of the way of the storm. But now it looks like Irma will hit there as a tropical storm. The only bright spot in all of this is that Lavonia is not that far from Lake Hartwell. We're bringing our fishing gear just in case we get stuck up there for a few days. 1 Quote
