Lee Paliulis Posted September 3, 2017 Posted September 3, 2017 Hello I am relocating south from Massachusetts, I would like some information from locals if you please. If you were to buy a home on any great bass fishing lake big or small in the north or South Carolina area what lake would you chose? Personal best here is 8lbs. Moving warmer would expect larger fish but would like quantity as much as size. Any info would be greatly appreciated ty Quote
Super User Oregon Native Posted September 5, 2017 Super User Posted September 5, 2017 After just reading about all the snakes in that area.....hmmmmmm.....could be interesting. Quote
grampa1114 Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 I'm thinkin' Lake Murray where the FLW just held their big Shindig. Just west of Columbia. Quote
Super User Koz Posted September 18, 2017 Super User Posted September 18, 2017 Here in the Bluffton and Hilton Head SC area we have hundreds and hundreds of bass producing lagoons. Most of these are man made lagoons within gated and non-gated residential communities. A few communities, Oldfield and Hampton Lake, stock their lagoons and lake. Hampton Lake stocks the hybrid Tiger Bass. What I like is that I can bike or walk to dozens of lagoons near my home. You can't put a bass boat in these lagoons, but you can kayak and canoe. Just mind the gators. The Santee Cooper Lakes and Lake Murray are great if you enjot big lakes, but the fishing pressure is a lot higher. Lake Murray doesn't have alligators, but you'll find them in the Santee Cooper region as well. Lake Hartwell is in the NW corner of SC and has great bass fishing and is a pro tournament stop. But the fishing pressure is pretty high in that lake. Quote
