Super User Raider Nation Fisher Posted September 3, 2017 Super User Posted September 3, 2017 I have been doing industrial construction for many years. I have seen and heard many different things in that time. Some Awesome, some weird, some creepy, some down right terrifying. This is a new one on me though. I strolled into the restroom this morning and was greeted by music. No no my friends not that kind of music. Actual music. Apparently, one of the millwrights out here is a fan of listening to music whilst using the loo. There are many many sounds out here. Cranes moving, lifts beeping, diesel and propane powered welding machines running, grinders make high pitched whines an "singing" as the eat the paint off of beams and clean weld slang from welds. Chains clanking from chain falls, beating hammers slamming bull pins into bolt holes on beams. Rattle guns clacking and popping as bolts are tightened. A veritable symphony of sounds that equal the sound of money. And then there is, "Woah oh oh oh listen to the music! Woah oh oh oh....." SMH Quote

FordsnFishin Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 Music on the job site is #1 priority. I make my apprentice bring a radio everywhere we go. Quote
Super User Gundog Posted September 17, 2017 Super User Posted September 17, 2017 Well Raider just be glad you work is nothing like mine. My co-workers can't be bothered with doing their jobs while they have their smart phones in their hands. Makes my job tougher because I'm the helpful sort of guy. Once my work is caught up I look around to give others a hand with their jobs. Then, of course, they go back to surfing the web for cat videos, recipes or googling their names. No wonder robots are taking jobs, they actually do them. Rant over. Quote
