Brett Vasel Posted August 31, 2017 Posted August 31, 2017 Whats up guys, I have an Ultra minnow head JIG mold, and was wondering if anybody has tried to modify theirs to fit spinnerbaits also... not sure if it will work due to the 90 degree hooks that they require? Any info would be welcomed on this. I know people have done this with the poison tail jig mold but that's a different style hook. I want this style head on my spinnerbaits, however the spinnerbait mold with this head does not have very friendly sizes to me. Quote
Dave A Posted September 1, 2017 Posted September 1, 2017 It is a pretty simple modification. Figure out the layout, drill slowly and check the position often. I like to start with a larger diameter bit and when I am close, use the bit with Diameter that I plan to work with. THe cavity for the 90 degree hook eye will fill with lead, but you can remove that. Hope this helps. Quote
Bdnoble84 Posted September 22, 2017 Posted September 22, 2017 You can fill the eye with plumbers putty as i have tryed. The plumbers putty was not purfect, but i was not trying to fill the whole thing, just fill in the gaps around a smaller than recommended hook. I believe smalljaw suggested hi temp silicone (the red stuff) in another post regarding mold modifications. This may be better? Feel free to correct me if i am wrong on this. Quote
