Kind of a silly question, Has anyone else in the area been having a tough year? My days are hit and miss. More miss that anything. Its to the point im starting to wonder if its me. I haven't done anything different in my fishing techniques, I know im using the right bait under certain conditions. Clear water, stained, muddy, windy conditions, calm.  Im having a hell of a time catching fish this year. I have talked to local guys and it all seems they have the same response, "its been a tough year" Is it all weather related ?  I fished  a local tournament last night on a local lake with the exception of a couple shorties I had nothing in the boat.  Im beginning to question myself.  Anyone have any input on this, is anyone else in the same boat as me? (No pun intended).   Thanks Guys

Its been tough this year. The amount of rain this summer has really made it difficult to not only get out but to find clear water. Thankfully, I don't fish tournaments cause that would make me crazy. Just remember, there is always next year (at least that is what Jets fans tell themselves).

I have never fished in water as murky and nasty as this year. It has been a wet summer and there was really no consistent weather patterns, which I know does have a bearing on the fish, Im ready to hang up the sticks this year and look forward to next year. As far as the Jets fans I wont add anything to that, I know as a Giants fan they better do better than they did in preseason.  Or im going to have a long football season too......    LMAO!

Mike Iaconelli uses the phrase "never give up" but, Im not sure how much self torture I can take. Maybe this fall will be a little more inspiring. As im watching the rain fall as I type      UGH!

I'm with you in hoping this fall will be better that the summer. Can't wait till the jerkbait bite starts up. That is when the fun begins.

I've had a weird year this year also, but I can't say bad.  The Susquehanna has been inconsistent because of the rain, but I've fished a lot of new water and did OK on the days I wasn't fishing chocolate milk or weird weather.  Still, not a lot of size.  One 18" smallie, and a number of largemouth between 15-17", but nothing really big, and a lot of work to get them.  I've skunked a lot more this year than I'd like to admit, but I'm going to chalk most of it up to practicing with the fly rod B)

I had a great year until July. I live in SEPA, but fish a few private lakes in the Poconos quite often. In July, the bass in the shallow weedy lakes got stubborn, so I spent more time fishing lakes down by me, whichnare bigger, deeper, and also full of grass.

july was my best month in SEPA. Punching grass landed me a few 6's, 5's, and some 4's.
