I've been really happy with KastKing Super Braid, and it's really cheap.

Been please with my daiwa j-braid x4. It cuts vegetation well and casts well. I have experience with the 30lb and 50lb.

Absolutely no Spiderwire, Power Pro, or Fire Line!

Color bleeding aint a concern since the bass round here aint line shy.

You just axed the only three I have ever used. I've never had any issues with braided line other than the original Spiderwire sucked on spinning reels. I use 14lb Fireline or 20lb PP on my spinning reels now, and 50lb Spiderwire or PP on the baitcasters. The local shop is really pushing the Vicious brand, not sure I have any reason to switch though. I definitely will not try the KastKing just because I don't like the way they spammed this forum with alts hawking their products with 1 post users spouting fake reviews on this thread.

Gamma and smackdown are my choice for that reason.

I use 832 when I need something to sink faster

The stiffness in Power Pro goes away after about 15 minutes of use.

I was going to say the same.

Just started using that stuff......insane

Isn't that stuff in the same boat as Gliss? I mean super thin diameter and slippery making it ideal for spinning reels not so much casting reels.

I've switched most of my line over to Vicious. I love their No Fade Braid and Elite Pro Fluorocarbon. To me mono is mono no mater what company you go with and I still like Gliss on my spinning combos.

They are a sponsor.  The company also happens to be local to me.  Please explain what you mean by "fake reviews."  Because I've actually been using the braid, as have quite a few others here.

Ok, @Catt I gotta ask. What has made you decide to try some braid? I've been on here long enough to know you're the biggest of fans for Big Game and that's all you use. ?

FWIW, I've always been a fan of PP. I know lotta people dislike it, but I've tried a number of other brands and always go back to the original PP. 10-20 lb works well on my spinning reels & 30 lb works well for my baitcasters. Like you, I have no desire to tie on leader material - I use straight braid. Even my shaky head rod is straight 10 lb PP.

@wdp

I've fished braided Cotton, Dacron, Micron, Suture Material (Silk), Micro Dyneema®, Kevlar, & Spectra.

I do use braid for punching & besides I'm always tinkering with something ?

He was talking about the posts from the numerous people that happened to create an account the same day they replied and their only post was on that thread.

I believe what he is talking about is that there are 4 posters supporting kast king braid and they have only posted once. With tens of thousands lines, lures, rods and all other equipment mentioned on this site, they magically became aware of this thread and then posted their review on it. Yet have no other opinion on anything else.

I can see why people are calling those "fake" reviews as only posting once gives no credibility

However, there are a lot of reviews about their braid from legitimate members

I try to look and read those reviews and just ignore reviews from people that have no other opinion

^^ THIS ^^

I guess 1 post from 5 months ago from a new member has a greater impact on a few people than many other posts from seasoned members since then.

To each his own.

 Suture Material (Silk)

Man, if I could get silk line to work on my BFS trout combo I could really out-snob the fly fishing guys with their trashy plastic lines.

It's isn't color change, it's the excess dye coming off until the excess is washed off.  Samuari is dark green and stays dark green after the excess dye washes off.

I like Fins PRT, good out of the box. If you like 8 carrier braid the Fins XS (extra smooth) is 0.0010 larger dia; 20/.011, 30/.012 vs PRT 20/.010, 30/.011. Diawa Samuari 20/.009, 30/.010.

Excessive dye, color bleeding, or whatever ya wanna call it is of no concern to me or the uneducated bass round here.

Braided cotton was white, the first TUF Line I used was white, & guess what, it still caught fish.

Two I'm using now most are Daiwa J-Braid-8 and Spiderwire Stealth. Both are soft. I've used the Stealth since it first came out and its the line I use most for high vis conditions in shallow water bc it lands so softly. J-Braid is fine for the same purpose too.

I know what you mean about PP, and especially Fireline, being stiff. The only one I've used and stopped using is Fireline. I actually don't understand that stuff. It takes forever to soften.

The dye bothers me by getting all over my hands and clothes not the bass.

I three like j-braid, but my go to is suffix 832.

I used to like powerpro then I started having a lot of problems with it, ditched it and couldn't be happier.

TUF Line is not only priced really good, but is a HoneyWell Spectra weave made in America by Western Filament. Power Pro green box is for sure like wire & rough, that is a tight 4 strand spectra weave. If you go with any of the 8 strands like Power Pro plus you get a much softer, different animal all together.

Power Pro Plus is great on casting reels, but pound for pound I go with Tuf Line. XP is a 6 strand weave, soft, spectra, and 300 yards is only about $20.

The newer Tuf Line called "domino" I believe, is also really good line, especially for the price. I just grabbed a bunch of packs on clearance in the green 4 strand 275yd boxes which is actually easy to cast, round, and much smoother than PP. The red box which is 8 strand is really nice, and for the price I would say it is hard to find a "Better" Braid.

Suffix 832 is the only 8 strand that I am not a fan of, kind of stiff, but lots of people love it. Tuf Line Xp has a 25lb with 7lb diameter, 20 with 6, and 30 is 8dia? but good on casting reels. Color comes off every braid I have used, that is what sharpies are for.

Dyneema is a trademark for a Japanese Company, SPectra with Honeywell, if a box does not have one of those 2 symbols on it, I wonder what is actually in the line. PE coatings and fibers on many top brands are not actually Spectra or Dyneema so I can't see spending the money.

I don't consider Fireline a braid, it is more a "Coated braid" or Superline, kind of like original spider wire. I hate that stuff on casting reels, but for spinning it is alright but check out TUF LINE for sure.

Fins braid is really popular on the Saltwater scene, really good in wind, plus they also have a nice pretty pink color.

I tried Gliss and it reminded me of Nanofil meaning it would snap on casts for no apparent reason. Maybe I had bad batches of both, but Gliss is not for casting reels at least not for me.

The one benefit of Power Pro being rough, is it cuts through weeds easy, but then again, I think it is way too loud when pitching cover. I would rather go thicker with PP Plus slick which is much less noisy when it rubs weeds, in wind, I feel like loud braid in cover can be a detriment at times.

I was anti Kast King Braid when it first came out, figured it was just another China braid with random PE fibers,  but they now design their own braid, have a 9 strand weave, and they sell a ton of it so people are buying it and I have not read negative reviews in last few years.
