I have a rod I enjoy that has a broken guide about you guides from the last one. And have it just taped for now how can I get this fixed and roughly how much? Or should I just make due with the tape?

it will be able to get fixed as for price it all depends on the going rate in your area. I would suggest looking for a rod repair shop or a rod builder in your area that can fix it for ya.

You can go to a local mon & pop tackle shop and most do this type of repair, est about $10.

Another option, depending on the rod type and quality, is to repair it yourdpself.

You can go online and watch a how to wrap rod guides vedio or look at written instructions with illustrations. Check all your guides from cracks with a cotton Q-tip, you may have a few guides that need to be changed.

I had a replacement sent to me. It was a double foot guide. i used sandpaper to remove the resin and put electrical tape on the blank next to the resin to prevent damage. next i wrapped the guide in small thread. I used electoral tape afterwords. i recommend gluing and wrapping it tightly. not a great fix, but its quick and cheap and temporary.
