cheezyridr Posted August 30, 2017 Author Posted August 30, 2017 very cool stuff! everyone is busy doing lots of things. and nothing wrong with napping, if you've got it like that. i never get enough sleep, myself. some cool cars mentioned! i used to like cars, but these days i like motorcycles more. i have had a few sorta neat cars, but it's been a few years: 69 caddy ambulance 67 caddy hearse mildly worked 500 caddy it would surprise people. 72 charger 318 car, but done up nice, was streetable and looked good. 68 mustang worked 289, seriously upgraded suspension and steering. a quick car that cornered well, but got sick of working on it constantly 87 trans am gta programmable eprom, exhaust, shift kit, custom paint. i could not behave myself in this car. i sold it because of that. bought a tercel, and was a much more sane driver after that. 1 Quote
Super User JustJames Posted August 30, 2017 Super User Posted August 30, 2017 I'm very simple and work 6 days a week so my hobbies is really limited. #1 would be fishing 2-3 time a week 10-11 months of year. #2 motorcycle riding, I normally ride about 10,000 miles a year since I moved to canyon lake my mileage kinda go down. I ride only Friday or Saturday and hope to make 5,000 miles this year(so far only 3,000 miles) #3 wood working, some small project , not cabinetry. so far have not done any, I hope to have more time in winter to think of something to do. 1 Quote

Super User senile1 Posted August 30, 2017 Super User Posted August 30, 2017 In addition to fishing, guitar has been my passion but over the last year I have had to decrease my playing time due to Kienbock's disease in my right wrist. Additionally, hiking in the mountains (Rockies and Appalachians) is something I love almost as much as fishing. These pics are from about a month ago when my wife and I traveled to the White Mountains of New Hampshire. This was from the top of Mt. Pierce at 4310 feet. The two pics below are from the top of Mt Eisenhower (4780 feet) which we climbed after scaling Mt Pierce. Our combined elevation gain was 3300 feet. The two pics below are from the top of Mt Washington at 6280 feet. My wife wasn't ready to attempt this one so we drove to the top of it. In the bottom photo, if you follow the ridge that is aligned with my right knee up to its peak, that is Mt Eisenhower which is 5 miles from where I am sitting. The photo below shows what the trails we climbed were like. It was pretty much rocks straight up with very few switchbacks. On Mt Eisenhower we had to do some rock scrambling to get to the top. 6 Quote
Steveo-1969 Posted August 30, 2017 Posted August 30, 2017 I lead a very quiet life, just the way I like it. Fishing and reading are my only hobbies. 4 Quote

Super User islandbass Posted September 1, 2017 Super User Posted September 1, 2017 Pretty cool hobbies! * cycling both road and mountain were great passions/hobbies. Now that my kids are older, I've * * gotten back into road riding for now. Love mtn biking a bit more but my mtn bike is out of service that will take time to rebuild. * reading preferably nonfiction but if fiction it would need to be something on the same level as Tolkien * Gotten back into golf but only 3-4 times a year. Love the game but love fishing more. * I like to make lures mostly inline spinners and cranks and jerk baits from scratch, self taught through trial and error. * I can play piano and love all styles from classic to jazz to gospel and some good video game music. They say I have an ear for it, lol. * I also like to dabble in composing music * I learned to play chess as a kid and in 2014, I got back into it to teach seniors to play to help them keep their minds active and sharp. * snowboard - nothing like it Things I want to get into some day 1) track animals and everything about hunting except the final kill. 2) archery and using crossbow 3) skydive 4) maybe play baseball again. Just found out there are adult leagues and bumped into a guy in his mid 60s in a baseball uniform with pin stripes. He was headed to baseball practice. 2 Quote
