Any suggestions on a good budged rod? Looking for a 7ft Medium heavy for my first baitcasting setup and was thinking of spending $80-$100. Any suggestions would be great.

Dobyns fury $110. One of the best rods at the $100 price point imo.

I got my 6'10" MH/F Daiwa Tatula for around $110 on Amazon, I think the extra $10 is worth it and you won't be disappointed.

Or are you looking for a combo around that price point? The Abu Garcia Vengeance and Black Max isn't too bad but better yet I hear Gander Mountain is selling Lews Mach II combos for around $100 which will last you a long time.

Save up another $40-$50, and you're in a whole other class of rods with respect to weight, sensitivity, and quality components.

The Dobyns , Lew's , Daiwa Tatula are all good suggestions - close out Abu Garcia Veritas 2.0 bait cast rods in a 7'2" MF Fast can be found for around $70.00 making them a good deal - still , you can't go wrong with the Dobyns , Lew's and Daiwa Tatula rods (like above posters recommended) ...

I'll say the fury is hard to beat for the money.

If you absolutely can't budge from the $80-$100 price point take a look at the any Garcia vendetta rods or a veritas 2.0 on clearance.

If you want a real budget rod that is still decent the Berkley lightning rod is a good choice

I recently purchased a Fenwick HMG 7' mh f.  $70 on eBay from seller FFO.  I'm pretty happy with it.  I think they can be found in stores for around $100

I have no personal experience with rods in this price range, at least not in the past 8 years or so. Was recently searching for a budget rod. If I were buying in your price range the Shimano Exage looks pretty interesting and has good reviews on TW.

Also the Dobyns Fury seems to get a lot of love at the price point and would be high on my list.
