flg2010 Posted August 27, 2017 Posted August 27, 2017 This 16 inch was heavy and fat in the wrong areas. I am noticing that River smallmouth are oddly shaped. Released unharmed for the most part. The battle to get him landed took longer then I would have liked and he was pretty tired. He had a fake crayfish plastic down his mouth that I didn't put there, could not remove it, it looked like it had been there years.... Caught him on a Keitech custom worm. Hopefully he will continue to grow. 4 Quote
IndianaOutdoors Posted August 28, 2017 Posted August 28, 2017 Nice fish. Does look kind of odd doesn't it. Quote
Super User Spankey Posted August 28, 2017 Super User Posted August 28, 2017 That fish is most likely a female. The spawn is well over. She would take on a different shape at that period. Looks fine to me. That crawdad may not of been there all the long. It doesn't take all that long for some hooks to rot away. 1 Quote
