Color plastic

Okay folks newb question. Water is a greenish look any suggestion on the best colors would be for plastic worms?

Color is a topic you will get a variety of opinions on. Using the search function will provide a whole lot of opinions for clear water, stained water, muddy water and so on. Good luck, there's a bunch to be learned here!

Red shad, Tequila Sunrise, black shad all work well for me in green water

Howdy and welcome aboard! One of the ponds I fish by my house has a kinda greenish look to it. It's a murky greenish look. Junebug, junebug red and red bug colors have worked well for me here in central Louisiana. Maybe they'll work for you up there in NY. If it's a clearer green look where you are you may want to try more natural colors like a green pumpkin or watermelon.

Haven't tried red shad or black shad, I guess because I don't have any that color...lol. I do have some Zoom u-tail worms in tequila sunrise. I'll have to try them next time I'm at the greenish looking pond by my house.

Add watermelon red flake, gold flake, green pumpkin red flake.

The average bass lake has water with greenish tint. The most popular soft plastic colors are green pumpkin with red flake and black with blue flake. My go to color is purple in greenish off color water like Roboworms MM111.

I don't pick color based on water clarity or color charts; I pick a color, throw it & let the bass tell me if I made a good choice.

 

I've had great success in greenish tinted water with Gooseberry & Sprayed Glass both of which aint on no color chart.

 Great advice, but I would suggest starting with YOUR favorite color!

I fish greenish tinted water all the time . Just about any color works well for me except  red . Red has always been my least productive color in shallow water .  Deep water anything goes .

 

I use a lot of  blues , purples , greens , browns and black chartreuse tail .

Just an FYI Yamamoto's top selling color is 297 Green Pumpkin Black Fleck.  I have thrown it in water color from coffee to crystal clear and caught fish.  It's the most universal color there is to me.

I always carry a small variety of colors for any bait I'm using. Usually a dark shade, a bright shade, and a neutral shade. That way I can see which way the fish are leaning on any particular outing. Remember this, the first rule of bass fishing is that there are NO rules! Give 'em what they want.....not what you want to give 'em. Good Luck and have fun experimenting.

Watermelon, Watermelon Red, Blue Fleck, Red Shad. Swap a few times and let the fish tell you what they want.

I T rig it with a 1/4oz weight most of the time, flip at everything.

You can, I have other baits in this color that I use for trailers though.

Welcome. I'm from the Rochester area as well.  What I have found works well around here for me are the following colors in the Yamamoto color chart : Watermelon red magic, baby bass, goby, green pumpkin black fleck. Occasionally I try purple, black or pumpkin black/ green flake.

I have better luck with 4" worms in the fingerlakes.

A great combination for me is the Gary Yamamoto 3.75" baby craw in the pumpkin/ black green flake color rigged weedless on a 1/16 oz. owner ultra shakeyhead head.

Please note that these work well for me and I just fish around this area.  Others may have other, better suggestions.
