Does anyone use one of these rods for top water and jerkbaits. I only keep one moving bait rod in the boat and it has to be versatile. Topwater is the priority, but I also use this rod for underspins, red eye shads, and jerkbaits. Most of my top water lures are in the 1/2-5-8 range. What are your thoughts?

For topwater I fish the G. Loomis GLX PR844C (popping rod).

For jerkbaits I like a shorter rod. I now have a custom, but for years I fished

a St. Croix Avid AVC66MF which has a soft tip.

It would work but like anything else how heavy of baits has to be considered. You may be better off with the MBR 842.

843 GLX is great for what you need!Just,of course, depend of kind the lures, what you'll use.

And I'm talking about MBR series.
