FishOnLMB Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Does anybody know of any big swimbaits that are pretty cheap. I am looking for them anywhere from 8-10 inches. I am looking for to be around 20 dollars and cheaper. I would like to hear all opinions from glide baits to huddleston type baits. Quote
IndianaFinesse Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 No experience with the huddlestons, but the savage gear line-thru trout is an awesome bait for fishing shallower water. Only costs $13 to, very affordable for a swim bait. 2 Quote
camman Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 You can get Reactions Strike 8" Bass Harassers on eBay for less then $10. Have no idea if they are good or not. IMO Huddlestons are hard to beat 1 Quote
papajoe222 Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Check out the muskie section of your LSG. I regularly catch bass on muskie glide baits and big Original Rapalas. Soft plastics open up a whole different subject, but the big hollow swimbaits are a killer on both the muskie and big bass. 1 Quote
Primus Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 The 8" Spro BBZ swimbait , River to Sea S Waver 200 and a 9" MS Slammer are some of the better swimbaits that carry a moderate for swimbaits price tag . 1 Quote
Super User MassYak85 Posted August 22, 2017 Super User Posted August 22, 2017 For 20 (ish) bucks savage gear makes the shine glide, you could scoop up some new or used 8" hudds, the 3:16 8" rising son is a good option, and the savage gear 3D line through trouts have a good s action and are very durable. Generally with swimbaits you get what you pay for but any of those are solid options for starting out. 1 Quote
DINK WHISPERER Posted August 22, 2017 Posted August 22, 2017 Savage gear is a favorite of mine in the "cheap" department. 2 Quote
Big Swimbait Posted August 23, 2017 Posted August 23, 2017 https://www.overstockbait.com/searchresults.asp?Search=Throwback&Submit=Submit The Minnow Dawg has the wrong pic. Click the color selection & you will see it is similar to the MS Slammer. I have bought this one & the topwater in all colors. Excellent big baits for the $ IMO. 1 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted August 23, 2017 Super User Posted August 23, 2017 I'd recommend spending an extra few bucks for a can't miss Hudd, but if you really want to stay on the cheap side Castaics are around $10-12 and can be picked up at some Wal-Marts. 1 Quote
Super User bigbill Posted August 23, 2017 Super User Posted August 23, 2017 I use yum money minnows but there are some cheaper knockoffs. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted August 23, 2017 Global Moderator Posted August 23, 2017 Savage Gear has the best lineup of affordable swimbaits out there. From the Shine Glide, Glide Swimmer, 3D Trout, 3D bluegill, 3D line through trout, and the Rad Rat, you really can't go wrong with them. 2 Quote
