Hi All...

I need to get a ram mount for a hook 7...looking on amazon I see two that seem to be identical.

Can someone tell me what the difference is?? I looked on Rams site and I could only find the 111u and not the 111.

For $29

Seems that the ball on the cheaper one is 1'' not 1.5'' like the other. Not sure what the implications are.

Ok...yeah the bigger ball I believe is sturdier... I didn't see that...thanks

1" Ball is too small for 7" display.

1.5 should work or look for something else?

I think 1.5" is OK. Is there a windshield in front of the MFD? Makes it better but you should be good with 1.5".

My Helix 9 has a significantly larger ball than 1.5 inches, I believe.  I haven't measured it, but it is very substantial. My Helix 7 is much lighter and I think it has one of the Rams you are showing.  A dealer should be able to clarify.

But it is clear to me that the bigger units need really substantial Rams.

I went with the bigger one. It was the one that was recommended by bps and ram...
