xxRambo_21xx Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 It is the 7'2 medium version. definitely a lot more thicker and heavier then i expected. i never used a glass rod so i don't really know what to expect. The rod is beautiful thought. Nicest rod i own by far. 0-2 on fish on it though. which reel ratio should i use for it since its a cranking rod?? I currently have a 7:1 daiwa tatula type R on it. Wingman87 Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 I prefer a reel right around 5.4:1 for cranks, especially if your gonna be throwing a 10ft or deeper crank. Really saves your arms and keeps you from getting wore out as quick. Quote
Robert Riley Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Glass is heavier and usually thicker. I'm eager to hear what you think of this after some more time on the water. Quote
xxRambo_21xx Posted August 15, 2017 Author Posted August 15, 2017 its very nice and seems like a good rod. they are in stock now at TW. i been waiting since may to use it which i did this evening. Quote
RichF Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 A legend glass will be my next crank rod for sure. I'd probably be using the 7'2 med for squarebills, traps, and dt6s so I'd use a 6:1 reel. Congrats on a very nice stick! Quote
punch Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 That reel's going to be a little fast for what that rod's meant for. Might want to slap on a lower gear ratio. Quote
dave Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 Years ago, Rick Clunn said that he could always reel slower if he "had" to but, he couldn't reel any faster if he "needed" to. Quote
sully420 Posted August 15, 2017 Posted August 15, 2017 I would get a real with a ratio 6:4.1 or lower in a little bit bigger spool diameter. Even though you're not getting as much inches of line per turn you're getting a lot more power. I like the Abu Revo orra Quote
xxRambo_21xx Posted August 15, 2017 Author Posted August 15, 2017 i dont understand how it is more "powerful" if it is slower? Quote

Higher gears = speed and not as much torque. Its like comparing a big diesel truck and a camaro. 1 Quote
