Alright guys, so I'm in the market for a new t-rig rod and they're are 2 I have in mind but just can't decide. I wish I could buy both but just can't swing it right now. The 2 I have in mind are either a champion 744 or an orochi extreme mission type f. I have a few champions and absolutely love them but have never owned a megabass rod. Anyone have any experience with these 2 rods?

I own the XX EMTF, but cannot speak for the Champion 744. Also, to clarify are you considering the DX 744c or DC 744c? I own a DC 734c and I believe the DC 744c is a faster action rod made with jig fishing in mind. The Extreme DX 744C is more in the lines of the DC 734c as a versatile do-it-all with a more forgiving tip.

I've been using the EMTF as my dedicated t-rig senko rod and love it for that application. The tip is soft enough, making it a versatile rod. I wouldn't hesitate to use it for other applications. If you're looking for a rod with a faster tip, the DC 744c would be the better bet.

Dc 744 is what I was considering, I've got a Dc 704 and absolutely love the tip for fishing small jigs and the like. Would you say the weight of the emtf is comparable to the dobyns?

Pretty close considering the mbass is has an extra 2 inches. Thanks for the pics. I'm torn really, the 7'4"-7'5" is the perfect length for me but honestly I believe I'd like just a tad slower tip, so I may have just answered my own question.

No problem.

Also, the EMTF has the full cork grip. I should have mentioned I have S/H 734c. So the weight could be a lot closer if you go with the F/H.

Good luck with your decision. I don't think you'll regret it either way.

The tapers of MB rods allow them to be pretty multi purpose rods. I had a DX 704 at one point and I currently own a emtf. Sensitivity is close on both. Maybe a slight nod to the MB but that could also be a mental thing.
